Tom's second life clarified him that his friend Jeff has nothing to do with his death, he prefered to live away from them to gave his wife and son some sort of security and happiness with Jeff. He live away as an animal with his friend Rambo, the squirrel, accepting his fate. Sad story but that is life.

When I was in the the 3rd grade, my teacher lost her husband in a car accident. He was driving home, at night, and fell asleep at the wheel. Left behind three small children. One day, at the beginning of class, I vividly remember her telling the story of taking her kids to see this movie in the theater only months after their father died. It probably didn't enter her wildest imagination that the movie with the cute dog on the poster was actually a somber tale about a man dying in a car accident, being reincarnated, and visiting his child. She said she had to explain to them that it was only pretend and that people don't come back. Heavy stuff.

The only way for that is go to a shelter and adopt and not buy it from a store and people just needs to stop breeding for money. People also need to understand that having a dog is a huge responsibility and people just buying a dog without thinking about the responsibility ends with them giving them away to a shelter. Most heartbreaking moments in the movie: Fluke sees his Mom for the last time Bella's Death Rumbo's revelation and death (every time Rumbo says "... but the sea, I wish I could smell the sea again" I fall apart) Tom's Death Fluke's revelation and goodbye and I havent even counted all the emotional scenes or heartwarming scenes that melt you away plus the soundtrack in this movie is a masterpiece!

it didn't get good reviews but if you watched it as a kid, it was one of those movies that sticks with you. you never see kids movies that are all just death, grieving, loss and revenge like this one was, with almost no happiness other than a cute puppy's face. you couldn't even really "enjoy" it because it just made you feel sad and existential the whole way through because you're just getting repeatedly hammered in the head with how fleeting and transient life and loved ones are and you can suddenly lose them at any time.
