When reading comments like yours, I used to roll my eyes and think "what a typical American with their obsession for guns in a country with extremely high gun crime". But to be honest, with the way things are going over there, I don't blame you. You have to protect yourself somehow and in a country with so much violent crime and political corruption there aren't many good options. The problem is, because you are all so into guns, there are so many more guns on the streets in the hands of bad dudes, and your chances of getting shot are so much higher than in many other countries. So now you have to carry a gun to protect yourself against someone else's gun and that just ends up in way more shootings.
