Man Struck On Arizona Freeway

LOCATION: Eastbound L-202 Ramp to I-10 Westbound

Troopers responded to the westbound I-10 transition ramp to the eastbound L-202 in Chandler just before 1:00 a.m. Monday morning after receiving a 911 call stating a pedestrian had been hit.
According to DPS radio traffic:
The 911 caller began performing CPR on the person as troopers were enroute to the scene.
Troopers arrived and located a male victim laying unresponsive in the roadway before taking over compressions.
Chandler Fire was dispatched to the location and transported the victim to a local area hospital in critical condition while they administered CPR via a LUCAS device.
Two vehicles could be seen parked on the shoulder at the scene, however it is unknown if either of them were involved in the collision.
Gila River Police assisted DPS in shutting down the exit ramp as troopers established a closure.
The investigation and the closure are expected to last several hours.
