I researched on Leo and he is stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of his life , he’s basically paralyzed from the neck down, a beautiful man with a beautiful body , what shame , honestly quite saddening , wishing luck to him and his family , god bless 😔. Edit: ok , I researched some more and it says that his condition has improved in the last couple weeks , thank god , but he is at square one in walking , he’s learning whilst being strapped , will update when I know more .

I work with young adults with autism and we try to give them a normal life, so we also go to a swimming pool or shopping centre but sometimes it's a bit too much for them and they freak out. But that's not the worst thing. It's the reactions from people. Some people have told us that we could better go away or don't go to public areas with 'that kind of people'. And last summer a woman said to another woman (but loud enough so we could here it) that 'these annoying people should be dead instead of ruining her day'. We were shocked.

All I could find about leandro was an article posted in 2013 which said he was able to sit up by himself and that he was travelling to california for surgery. he has a medical bill of about $100,000

Thank you for being so kind to us autistics! I have had a ridiculous reaction to drinking coffee! I had a panic attack because I was shaking so much! Autism effects the neurological pathways between the frontal lobe of the brain and the limbic system. The frontal lobe of the brain is responsible for regulating emotions while the limbic system is responsible for generating emotions. With atypical wiring comes a lack of connections between the two parts of the brain, so it is very difficult for us to regulate our emotions. Late childhood/early teen years is the hardest part because you literally have no idea what's going on and your brain is still developing. It does get easier with therapy and medication, so hopefully this child is doing a lot better now, but still, thank you for being calm and understanding!!

Aww so sad :( but good to see that he is home, breathing on his own and even sitting up. TO me it sounds like he is well on the road to recovery,and seems like he could heal a fair bit more. I burst into tears with the little girl. My daughter is 4 and nonverbal autistic. Times with her are absolutley that extreme. We just walked out of a restaurant yesterday before we ever saw a table because of meltdowns. I feel this so much. Poor thing, she didn't know why it stung.

My heart goes out to the Brazilian tourist Leo his whole life has changed forever just because of one innocent day at the beach . The young man's dancing career would be over and so many other dreams that he would have to put to rest and the hardest part would be going from independence to having to rely on people for assistance . There has been people diagnosised with quadriplegia who have gained some movement back in their limbs by long months of rehabilitation and hard work so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel for him .

In South Africa we have a succulent plant growing on the beach. It has short triangular leaves and we break them open and rub the juice on the bluebottle stings. Gone in seconds. Pity it doesnt grow in Bondi.

I have ADHD and react to pain completely differently to neural typical folk. I have sensory issues anyway, meaning loud noises and light can be overwhelming or certain clothing textures feel awful on the skin. I feel very bad for her, that must be a lot of pain and very overwhelming
