It is actually better than an eye witness. Studies have shown that eye witness testimony can't be conclusive because people can honestly believe what they are testifying to, but they are mistaken as memories fade, etc. The piece of truck in his yard was hard forensic evidence that proves he caused the damage.

Nah, he probably doesn't have a lot of money and considers insurance an unnecessary cost. Like I commented myself, if he had a vehicle already insured he'd be covered automatically on any vehicle he bought for a reasonable time until he could add it to his policy. Or decided to drive for the first time. I laughed because he's obviously been driving it for more than one day.

1) He obviously didn't report the accident because he HAD been drinking. 2) He didn't have insurance on his truck because ''you can't get insurance on a Saturday''. 3) He didn't have insurance on the trailer that he used when he collected his truck 4 days later. 4) He denied that he'd been on someone else's property even though there was a piece of his truck left there after the accident. 5) He said ''a deer ran out infront of him'' .. Wow ! Driving without insurance , that is very , very scary . He had no insurance and he states it was a Ssturday , the insurers were closed , but he " wanted to drive the truck " , it not a trip for anything urgent . What if he hit a human being ? Someone loses their life and he fails to remain at the scene of an accident . You can't afford to allow your insurance to lapse , not even for 24 hours , period , end of story .

lol i seen some cases where the insurance expired and the people were gonna renew it at some point or maybe not and 1 week after BOOM an accident! now they scurry for insurance right away will insurance cover it after you get the insurance again? or they won't even look at the accident that happened when you didn't have it for that 1 week.

@@bubbaXzone : Insurance companies share information ! If they get a claim for the day a person's insurance expired they won't cover the accident . Most people in the US have liability insurance , but don't bother to get collision insurance . Some insures won't count the first accident with them . But there a huge warehouse of data for all North American insures , I think it's called General Insurance . I remember, that they have every driver's record of accidents , fraud and anything drivers were charged with . But there are those insurers that tell to pay them $ 20.00 and your covered . Insurance is very expensive depending on where you live and there a few States that don't require a driver to have insurance .

In New York State , your premiums are based on driving record and how much money the insurer lost in a particular year . You need collision and liability insurance , especially if you have assets . Because lawyers will come after your property .

Lol my husband bought a motorcycle on a Saturday. Didn't even leave the lot before calling and putting insurance on it. To be fair to him, it was entirely logical that he collected the truck with a trailer and has not insured it or put it back on the road. I don't find anything unusual about that at all. Presumably he has more than one vehicle. I don't believe for a second he was not drinking though. Plus he is bit of a nasty piece of work for not paying for the damages he caused.
