I was half asleep when I started watching this. I woke up quickly lol. The defendant is not a whack job (not by NYC standards anyway). She knew EXACTLY what she was doing. She just didn’t expect this young woman to push back as hard as she did. I’m happy for the plaintiff and hope she does well in the future. I also hope someone from the housing authority either watched this or was informed of this behavior and the defendant loses her rent stabilized status.

@@molokomongalo6003 it means that the tenant has been paying the same rent for quite some time. Like YEARS. Meaning it didn't go up during the inflation increases over time. Her rent is probably $400-600 or something like that. She's been only paying a tiny amount, and then charging potential unknowing roommates double, triple, quadruple to live there (most likely illegal), and then making the place so unbearable, they are forced to leave early, and she keeps their money because they "broke the lease." Quite the grifter. If you're into "Sex and the City" there was an episode where Carrie was talking about her apartment. She was paying $400/month for her rent-controlled apartment, but she had spent so much money on shoes that she couldn't afford to buy her apartment from her ex and Charlotte bailed her out by giving her an old engagement ring to help fund it.

I hollered when the witness said may I tell you her age 22:07 😂 Also this is the first time I've seen a person interrupt the Judge while ruling and actually got more money/it worked out. Judges usually want you to keep your mouth shut bc you're winning. Glad JM allowed additional testimony. The defendant needs to be stopped before someone seriously hurt her. How does she slp at night smh. Lastly as pro life that I am, I'm glad she didnt have that baby. She would most likely have been a terrible example of a mother.
