@@daytonmccarville it's not unnecessary when the person volunteered info about it as the initial comment. It's pretty normal in human conversation to ask questions relevant to another person's statement. Like "I grew up next to Patrick Ewing!" could easily result in a response of "Oh no way that's cool beans, where did you grow up?" An example of an unnecessary question would be overly private information like "what was she in rehab for?" Or "what were some child hood traumatic events she discussed during group therapy?" I hope this helped you get a better feel for how discussions work and some differences between appropriate and less appropriate questions when continuing conversations. When you are unsure, you can always ask yourself if antagonizing and criticizing strangers for their questions will achieve anything positive or if you're better off just moving along until you encounter a situation you're less uncertain about. If find that this type of situation doesn't actually come up and you always want to just antagonize people for no reason, you can always seek out more professional help such as life coaches or self improvement books, or even a therapist. 😃👍

He wasn't "struck by lightning" Those flashes and what looked like a falling star were inside his head, the blinding lights often attributed to people getting seizures like epilepsy cause but with certain brain tumors instead. That's why no-one else saw the "lightning" While the seizure and bright lights are known to be true, and in some cases the language learning skills is documented. But the premise of suddenly having an amazing memory, or being able to use skills and have knowledge that has never previously been learnt is false.

This was shaping up to be a phenomenal movie, though I felt that the brain tumor aspect was a bit of a copout, like when a movie quickly ties off Act Three with the proverbial, "It was all a dream." I believe it would have served the movie far better if George was so frustrated with having ideas a mile a minute to the point where he was unable to live among the simple-minded people. He discovers a place safe from government agencies, where there are savants and others with superior intelligence which allows his amazing mind to be unleashed with breakthroughs and discoveries in all areas of science. He takes Lace and the kids with him to bring his head down to earth and for balance. He teaches them anything they want to learn. He can secretly communicate with his friends, Nate and Doc through a newly developed device created by George to keep in touch. This would have allowed a movie to continue with a fulfilling trilogy, and opened up a world of possibilities.

Nice thought, but he did not have time enough to develop all his ideas, only to write them down. Also, despite his genius, he was limited as to resources and startup capital. It costs a great deal of money to initially develop such innovations. Just look at how much capital is required by research and development departments in major corporations. Perhaps if he had lived longer, he could have accomplished much more.
