The real reason Dixson's in Knoxville, TN closed is because the owner of the restaurant was driving one night and died of a heart attack behind the wheel before hitting a telephone pole. The restaurant closed shortly thereafter.

Beth’s Cafe in Seattle has also closed down since they taped there. They had a 12 egg omelette 4 pieces of toast and a pound of hash browns. Adam did not finish it.

@@The.Original.Potatocakes the food was ok but they were open 24 hours and everything tastes better at 3-4 in the morning. They mostly had normal sized portions. The 12 egg omelette was to try to win a tshirt or to split with friends. It was a fun place. They had a couple pinball machines and paper and crayons to draw with. They tacked the drawings onto the walls. They covered the whole place so you could see what other people had colored. Lol

The loss of the Black Sheep still hurts Richmond. VCU drove real estate prices through the roof. It gets worse. The other two restaurants from the Richmond episodes have since closed. Ironically for the opposite reason: rioting and crime has forced a LOT of restaurants to call it quits.

The Shed had 2 locations, the one outside of Ocean Springs closed suddenly with no warning to employees and the owner laughed about it in a news interview, telling the reporter the employees could just go and find a new job. The Ocean Springs location burned down shortly after....makes you wonder.

LuLu's (home of the 3 pound cinnamon roll) in San Antonio closed. They quit caring about the quality of their ingredients and the cleanliness of their kitchen and were shut down several times by the health dept. The owners finally gave up and closed the doors.

Now Chompies in Tempe, AZ is gone now as of yesterday (Alice Cooperstown closed a few years ago as well, both on the same episode) and it's a heartbreaker for me as I have many memories going there with my mom (now deceased) and their other locations are further away and don't seem to taste the same as the food at that location.

However when the Nascar Restaurant went so did the ride. 10:05 I got to visit that place twice when I was there during to commission 2 Navy ships at separate times. The Old Spanish Sugar Mill in DeLeon Springs, FL is where Man Vs. Food filmed several years back when Casey was hosting. It's known for making your own pancakes with a griddle in the table. The building is still there, but the local business that owned it originally has been outbid by an out-of-state corporation and ended up closing as a result.

I heard some where that the average life expectancy of a restaurant is just 3 years, if true then I'm not that suprised some failed. Factor in that the earlier seasons were pre2008 aka pre Great Recession, then that adds another limiting factor, in their struggle for survival. Then can 2019 and that out break. Triple whammy.
