Hello everyone, in today's case we will be going back to January 25, 2002. It was a normal day for Chris and he left for work at roughly 810 am. parked his car at the office.. got a ride to the job site in a wooded area near country line road off warm Springs road in Harris County, Georgia.
He was 20 years old at the time, roughly 5'9" and 130lbs. he was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue and gray plaid jacket with a gray hood, and navy blue work pants. He was wearing his tan FUBU boats and a black cap and black watch. He has a tattoo on his arm with his name written in vertical letters.
Apparently after their lunch break, sometime between 1 and 130 on on Jan 25, 2002, Chris was talking to a Co worker. his Co worker turned his head for what he said was a minute and when he looked back Chris was gone.
This is the story of what happened on that day.
If you have any information regarding this case please contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office at: 706-628-4211
My thoughts and prayers go out to Chris, The Thompkins family and all his loved ones, and praying you get answers and Chris back soon🙏🙏
Thank you for watching and please be respectful in the comments if you choose to leave them🙏🙏

As a retired cop, I don't think that there's a chance in hell that someone in the crew doesn't know something. I'd love to have worked on this case, and particularly would have liked to have looked into the background of both the crew and Chris.

When the police say that someone ran off to start a new life, it often means one of two things. 1) they’re hiding something, or 2) They’re too lazy to do a thorough investigation. You can bet they would be thorough if it was someone in their family!

You're right. I hate when they use that excuse to brush off a missing person case. Maybe that really does happen sometime, but I think it's pretty obvious in cases where the person left everything behind, including their money and even their shoes, there is more than likely foul play involved in the person's disappearance.

Chris went missing literally in my back yard when I was living there. If you pull up a map, Chris went missing at the bypass for County Line Rd off Manchester Expressway. His second boot was found about a mile north east of there. At the time, I was a kid and lived in Woodland Hills, which is a Golf Course neighborhood (way less swanky than it sounds. All 18 holes are actually overgrown now thanks to mismanagement. It took my parents 2 years to sell our home there it was so bad.). Long story short, he either was killed by his crew or fell and died. He would have either found his way into the neighborhood (the entire area he was lost in is surrounded by housing and well established roads on 3 sides, and a 4 lane highway on the western side) or found his way to the highway, which you can hear constantly. The plot of land he was lost in is mostly woods, but there is no way he couldn't have heard vehicles from some direction, and in any direction it is a 1 hour walk tops to civilization. I used to play in the same area the 2nd boot was found when I was 9, and it isn't a hard place to find your way out of.

@@A_Stereotypical_Guy loooool. I actually had a coon hound back then that would roam that exact plot of woods and would bring home any bone she found, but no human ones ever showed up. I think the most likely scenario was that he was killed by his crew (or maybe a personal acquaintance who had a vendetta and knew where he was working?) and then dumped somewhere else. That said, he might've died and his body is in a hard to reach spot.

I don’t think he even made it to the sight. Something happened between office and the sight. And he is probably somewhere in between and it would take a miracle to find him because of all the woods between the two. I believe they all know what happened. And protecting each other. The boot, tools, coins and whatever else was staged to make it look like he was there. That’s all they have no scent no prints no indication of someone running. Yea he never made it there. So sad.

And they realized it, left early, (the whole crew) and didn't mention it to anyone and didn't take calls from his family, who came to pick him up at the regular location to find the whole crew had already come and gone, and they eventually told the police he walked away to cash his paycheck and never came back, even though the jobsite was over an hour from his home and he needed a ride from them, AND they brought his paycheck back with them in his lunch kit. He was buried there maybe ten years as his mother implored the city and anyone to allow them to dig there but it was no ones problem. Eventually a PI she hired convinced a different crew doing more digging nearby (ten years later) to dig in the spot they thought he was in, and they found him. The company never got in trouble of any kind. The foreman had told him to get in the hole. The excavator operator was on his cell phone while filling the hole.

If it is number 2 then someone will eventually talk. One may be able to keep their mouth shut but 3+? Very rare that several people keep a secret forever. Someone eventually speaks privately to a spouse or friend and then that person talks. Or one of those workers conscious starts weighing on them and then they start talking. The more time goes by the more relaxed these guys will get and then hopefully something comes to light.

I started working in construction when I was 16 years (HS work study program 1980) Over the course of the last 43 years I’ve worked with 2-4-6-8,and sometimes multiple crews with subcontractors on sites. I have no experience in surveying, but I can tell you that the days are long,boring, and altercations can break out if someone’s getting needled or there’s a bad actor on the construction job-sites. We used to pass the days joking around, and sometimes it got out of hand resulting in fisticuffs. One things for sure,we always knew where everyone was, and what they were doing when I was on a 4 or 6 man crew. Those guys have to know more than they’re letting on, and I’m sure the instigator of the *attack/fight/disagreement* made it clear that he’d take them all down if anyone said a thing. There’s no way that this young man just disappeared into thin air…Prayers for this young man, and his Family…May God give them closure,and justice.🙏🙏

As a retired member of Ground Search and Rescue with ample training in human behaviour and scene management, this man did not run off on his own free will, I couldn’t agree with you more. And everyone just happened to turn away for the few seconds he disappeared? He couldn’t have been THAT far that he couldn’t hear them calling, I promise you. And he left to start a new life and didn’t even bring his boots or tools? Nah, major strike two. TWO big red flags for me as a Search Director. People running do not leave behind their boots. People being dragged would leave boots in two different places and if you’re hiding a body, who has time for barbed wire boots. In my honest opinion, this was a workplace mishap and needs to be reinvestigated. And if not that, and this won’t be popular opinion, it could be a Sasquatch. That is a known hotbed and as soon as I saw your, “Pin,” before hearing the whole story, it was my first thought. If a Sabi took him, he wouldn’t care about tools or boots either. Like it or not, they’re out there my friends. Prayers to the family and hoping for better Christmases ahead. No family should have to endure not having the closure of a loved one not coming home. Man can be evil and time has proven this countless times. My advice to anyone, be very careful who you allow in you life. I trust me, I know what I will do, I know what I won't do, and I know what I'm capable of. This is just an all around shame, no one deserves what this young man got. I laughed when people said an animal got to him. 50 feet, no screems, no roar, and no one seen or heard anything. No animal I know of can stop a scream/yell, but guess what, another human can. Sure animals go for throats, but no noise? Body hitting ground, animal roar, or just plain wrestling. Say/believe whatever makes you sleep better at night, but if this was investigated fair/correctly, people would be in jail. I say people, because again 50 feet and no one seen/heard anything. Lastly, when I worked people always asked me why I don't talk to people? 2 Reasons, 1. I don't know you, 2. I come to work, to work. Not make friends. If I make one, that's just a bonus. Have you heard about the case where a family went for a hike up a trail in a state park and the father/husband was leading and suddenly he disappeared? He disappeared right in front of his family. They searched for him and could find nothing. The area wasn’t even covered in trees. It was pretty open. I have read that there are places where portals open. When that happens and the person steps into them they disappear. A reporter actually went to the place to talk to park rangers. They told her they needed a few minutes and asked her if she could wait. She said yes and hiked up around the area that the man went missing. She heard a man calling for help. She looked everywhere and could not find him. She went back to the ranger station and reported what she heard. She didn’t even know about where the man went missing. Rangers and volunteers helped to search again. Nothing was ever found. I also have read stories about hunters being in the woods alone and took a step and couldn’t see their foot. The pulled it back and it was there. Then stuck their foot in the same area again and it disappeared. There is so much more going on than we understand.

I worked for a paving company from 19 years old to 23……some rough guys that at times didn’t get along well. But those same people were the first to have your back in a situation. I know to some people that makes no sense but it’s true. There is a possibility one of the co workers had something to do with the disappearance but after this amount of time with nothing new it’s becoming more unlikely. I do think however the human remains found in the area isn’t a simple coincidence. For my thoughts, it depends on how old the remains were. 20 years, 10, 3-5 years? The phone call to the coworker’s lady? That only sounds odd if the authorities and mother wasn’t contacted in a timely manner. Very strange, I’ve heard about this before and I’m still baffled. A mountain lion came into our neighbor yard landed with his jaws on the neck of their large black dog and jumped over and above the fence and was gone with dog in its mouth. They never found the dog! The fence was 5 or 6 feet, the lion leaped right over it about 10 feet from the ground.

I agree that one of his colleagues knows more than they're saying. If a puma or bear were to attack he would scream or yell. But just to have someone disappear is very extraordinary. Since they are a survey team I'm sure they know a lot of nooks and crannies. I don't think he would run, he would probably try to fight back like most young men would. He was possibly bludgeon from behind and buried deep. Boots were more or less planted to throw off a trail.

If it were humans he would've yelled or they would've heard something; but not if it were a stealth feline male mountain lion, nope, not have chance to yell. Mountain lion pounce at same time sever the neck, no sound. Whenever someone 'disappears' suddenly and without any noise out in the wild it's COUGAR. They make no noise unless there was a struggle or fight but a small adult like Chris is no problem for a large hungry male lion. Mountain lion have been known to take deer right up a tree. Bears are noisy and messy, the lion can be in and out in a flash. One took our neighbor's big dog and carried it high above the fence as it leaped away. They never found the dog.
@moniquemonicat

@orchidster Absolutely agree! When I hear people say "gosh we just can't figure out how a man could disappear in one second without any noise or trace" then I think MOUNTAIN LION. They're stealth. So that's the clue it was a lion. A man or even a bear there would be sound or noise or screaming or something. Not with a lion, they're trained assassins go right for the jugular vein and hit you fast like a mack truck, no time to yell and they can pounce and attack severing the neck with one bite simultaneously. This is how they take down prey. The boots dropped down onto the fence when the lion jumped OVER the fence. Lions can easily jump 15-20 feet. I'll have to check that area to see if they have a lot of cougars there If they do then of course that is what happened to the guy who was pretty small and easy prey for a large hungry cougar.
@moniquemonicat
@moniquemonicat 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnLennon255 That's exactly how cougars attack: straight for the throat ad they do that while they are landing. They don't jump and land than then bite, they jump and when they land they land the bite on the jugular vein and drag their prey away. Cougar simply jumped the chain link fence and that's when his chain and boot fell downwards on the top of the fence.

I’m from this part of GA and this is a case I will never forget. After scrolling thru these comments, I feel a need to clarify some things. First, there are no predators, in that area, that are capable of gaining control of and hauling a person off. Also, the area may appear to be remote and wilderness, but it’s certainly not. You could place yourself in those woods, walk 10-15 mins, in any direction and be back in civilization, either a home/farm, or a main road. Occam’s razor is the best approach to this, as well as all other cases of people ‘vanishing’ in outdoor settings.

Where I live, a farmer hunting on his own property fell into a long forgotten dried up well, covered by rotten wooden planks,and overgrown with weeds all around. He wasn't found until thenextday, after a few people shined a light in the hole. He said he could hear people calling his name, but they couldn't hear him yelling out. He couldn't fire his shotgun, because the barrel was badly bent. Luckily, he only suffered a badly sprained ankle in the fall. When you have to start a subjective rant with “I hate to say this”, you’re basically lying to yourself. You didn’t hate to say that. You hate the “Deep South”. Whatever that is. Are you talking about an actual geographical location in the Country or are you talking about a make believe land in the deep dark recesses of your mind where all of your fears and hatred reside. You can go anywhere in this Country and find people from all over the world living there. And how do you know that “all too often, mums the word.” in the “Deep South”? Did you look at statistics to come to that conclusion? What about cities in the north like Chicago? What’s the ratio of homicides to unsolved homicides in those cities? I bet there’s more unsolved cases there than Harris County Georgia. You have lost any real relation to the world around you. Instead you’ve replaced it with an illusory world made up of your own unknown face. The deep south isn’t a place in Georgia. It’s a dark and scary county, far removed from yourself, where your heart resides. It’s a make believe land where all of your fears and hatred for people you deem to be different than you live. You’re not like “those people”. We know “all too well” how “those people” are. If you want to find the real deep south you’re not going to find it in a county in Georgia that you’ve never been to. You’re not going to find it in a group of people that you project all of your fears and negative character defects onto. All you have to do to find the real “deep south” is go look in a mirror.

Mr. Thompkins was working with a survey crew in a wooded area near County Line Road off of Warm Springs Road in Harris County, Georgia on January 25, 2002. He was accompanied by three co-workers, all of whom worked approximately 50 feet from one another. One of the employees looked away from Thompkins for a moment; by the time he glanced at his area again, Thompkins had disappeared. After the area was searched by volunteers gathered by Mr. Thompkins' family, they found one of his boots, his work tools, and 12 cents on the ground. A piece of blue fiber from his pants was found on a nearby barbed wire fence. According to Mr. Thompkins' mother, Ann McKenzie, this evidence didn't match up with the story that her son's boss and his co-workers said: That Mr. Thompkins just walked away from the job. In July 2002, Thompkins's other boot was located on some property off I-85 by the property owner. It is still unknown what happened to Mr. Thompkins and whether foul play is involved

Goes double if they're fat as fuck, too, which most of them are.

His coworkers know more than they’re telling, that even includes his boss. It doesn’t say if his boss was one of the four, but you can be sure he was aware of Chris’s potential disappearance. That would explain why he said “Chris has been acting strange lately”. On the contrary, his own Mother, who knew him much better, said he had been fine in the days leading up to him missing with nothing appearing out of the ordinary. Keep doing what you're doing. You are doing a great job. I follow a lot of other channels like this that cover the same stories sometimes, and I've always enjoyed your style of presentation and hearing your take on things. In cases like these, the devil is always in the details, and details often vary depending on who is telling the story. In any case, there can never be too many people covering these cases. You don't think his co-workers were looked at, grilled, background checked?? If any of these guys were guilty the other workers would have given him up or he would've eventually cracked or told somebody, left evidence somewhere, sent a text, etc. These guys hardly knew him and he had no money. Why would they kill this person? Where would they have hidden his body so quickly with no trace in an area they had never been before? His co-workers didn't do this.
