@@snu3877 It is utterly disgusting, the treatment of these children. A society that further abuses children by way of the ineffective and insufficient punishment and/or rehabilitation of the abusers. Lord have mercy. They will be held to account, and if not in this realm then the next.

@@mamamarianovits9029 Amen. I used to be a very vengeful person when injustice was done to me or others. But then I remembered that the Bible says that "vengeance is mine [God's], I will repay." CPS literally inspects (or is supposed to) the houses of foster parents before placing kids with them, how do they keep missing all this abuse??? It's far from the first case like this 💔

I work for DCS (I don’t work for CPS, which is responsible for these matters). I cannot speak for the state these kids live in or the laws at the time. But in my state with the current laws, this would have warranted a visit and investigation within mere hours, 24 hours at the absolute latest. And after seeing the deplorable conditions of the home, let alone all the other abuse, the kids would have been removed immediately. I’ve called the hotline to report child abuse and honestly have never been given updates on those cases, which is probably why this gentleman never got one. Trust your gut. If you feel a child is going through abuse, CALL SOMEONE. We have to look into every call. Tell CPS every little detail you can. I know, our system is not perfect and it needs a lot of help. But please do your part by reporting something if you see it. We are ALL mandated reporters. Period. Thank god this man reported this and saved these kids from more time with those monsters. An absolute hero. I wish them all the best in the world.

As a childcare worker, I've had kids who were abused. You make a report and pray for the best. Not knowing if CPS did their job or not is incredibly frustrating. They usually don't call you back and let you know the kids are safe, they'll ask questions but once that's done you aren't involved anymore. He probably assumed during those three years that it was being handled like it should have been. But I absolutely relate to "I never stopped thinking about those kids." You never stop worrying, and whether you know the kids well or not you just want to give them all the love they deserve. I could list a bunch of kids right now that I am worried for but there's absolutely nothing I can do for them and that is terrifying.

The fact that these people were unafraid to tell him about their treatment of the children shows they were out of touch with reality, besides being horrible criminals. I don't mean to insult people who have mental illness, most of whom wouldn't hurt anyone. But maybe these monsters were not so wrong to think they'd get away with it.
