We got there, she refused to get out of the vehicle, then spit on my partner, she went 148 and being a female of course you try not to break them. It took about five minutes to get her into custody on top of the fact she broke free and then ran away. Legit one of the fastest runners I’ve ever chased. Point of the story. When you try to be nice, when you have preconceived notions of a person’s abilities, shit can go wrong very quick. Big lesson learned that night. I'm looking at your name and am drawing a picture in my mind. What a moronic statement about throwing the knife. Have you ever tried throwing a knife at anything in your sheltered life? I suspect not. Well I have, thousands of times for fun and sport. The knife he was holding has about a 100,000 to 1 chance of hitting a moving target (both he and the police were moving) with the point first and actually penetrating far enough into the police to do any damage. Of course Hollywood movies have made the public delusional when it comes to throwing knives...everyone dies in the movies. This is not the movies. Knives designed for throwing are made special just for that, and are weighted and balanced perfectly. They must be thrown from a certain distance to ensure they with hit and stick point first, which is usually 1.5 rotations every 3 feet. So, an amateur with a kitchen knife at a random distance can do about as much damage as a throwing a watermelon.

The police could surround him from a distance and make sure there is no one else is around. Even if he threw the knife he wouldn't be able to hurt them. And if he DID throw the knife, he would have nothing else to defend himself and the police could go in and capture him. And while the hobbling amputee is moving as fast as a toddler can run at best for a few secs, the police can keep him surrounded and wait till they get someone with a net and shield arrive so they can move in for the capture. I just don't understand why they don't have shields and nets in their cars already. But they do have different types lethal weapons in there.
@Beefyrulz Жыл бұрын
@@Simqer You are literally the type of person they make fun of on this channel. 'Well why didn't they just pepper spray his shoes or tase his gun?' Disabled or not this man has already seriously wounded someone and is on the move posing a threat to anyone else he might encounter including the officers. By time the officers arrive they _tried_ using their tasers (which you would know if you watched the video) but that failed and the guy was continuing to be a threat. Even if he had thrown the knife there's still a chance that could kill one of the officers (YES knives ARE deadly weapons even if thrown by a disabled person) and the officers have no way of knowing if he has any more weapons on him. For all they know he could have had a gun too. So what happens if he threw his knife, they surround him, get in close, he draws a gun and starts shooting the nearest officer? Also speaking of surrounding him that shit isn't like the fucking movies where one guy just says "Surround him!" and 30 cops appear out of thin air and the guy goes "Well shit, you got me" surrenders and drops their weapon. First and foremost is crossfire, At most they can only realistically cover like 160-170 degrees around a person without risking crossfire, not even mentioning the fact the guy was up against a fence. Secondly the guy is actively running away (potentially towards more civilians that he could kill or injure) so even if they had a full 360 coverage around him, that means you got a lot of cops who'd have to run backwards and risk tripping and falling in this violent criminals path. But that's besides the point because hindsight is 20-20. It's easy to say "Well they should have done this, they should have done that. They should have used this thing." But the officers only have so much time to put an end to this threat before he causes more harm. They gave him his chance to surrender, they tried their less-lethal option, he continued to pose a threat, so they were out of options and had to make a choice. You know the best way to avoid being shot by the police? Don't fucking stab strangers on the street like it's GTA.

Hospital guard here. Once had a double leg amputee patient, we'll call him Fred for HIPAA purposes. Dude was a basket case, checked in constantly. Knew this guy for years. He would give us a list of behavioral psych meds he was "allergic" to, omitting one, because somehow this guy enjoyed that one. In the hopes of being forcibly sedated, he would intentionally attempt to hurt people as bad as he could get away with. He knew he couldn't get four-point restrained because no ankles, and he could still "kick" with his stumps when two-pointed, so chemical sedation was our only option. But that's normal behavior, or as normal as it gets in a hospital ER. No, what makes Fred notable is that despite his double amputation above the knee, *he could run on his stumps.* My first contact with Fred? A horror film style scene where a female nurse ran screaming from his room, and I saw Fred coming at me from down the hall, screaming and snarling like a zombie, a sprinting blur moving my direction at waist level, arms flailing. Nasty, nasty fight. Backpedal, backpedal, "stop, stop," no compliance, so... pounce, grapple. You might think someone is easier to fight with less weight on them, but you'd only think if you've never had to deal with an oddly shaped person solo in a ground fight where they have the experiential advantage. God, everyone hated this guy... I've filled out so many workplace injury IRs because of that shitbird. Thankfully a closed door was usually sufficient and we were always ahead of him after that. He didn't have the strength to push it open against a boot on the slider track, and a note in his file said to never put him in a curtain room. So if someone wasn't cornered or grappled by him, it was always safer to just let him burn himself out, because there was no one for him to take hostage or attack when he was locked in the room. And of course on discharge he always requested a new wheelchair, because he would pawn the one we gave him a few days ago, and knew we would be required to furnish him one before we discharged him again. He didn't even lie about it. Just said that straight up because he knew there was nothing we could do about it.

Fun fact: Bulletproof Kevlar vests are not stab-proof

I don't think a paraplegic with no legs (aka no leg drive, humans get a ton of their throwing power from their legs, look at MLB pitchers) was gonna throw a knife from 30ft away and pierce an officer's vest

@@pyrosupreme4473 what about an officer’s face or neck? I am tired of the lack of accountability culture. Making excuses for someone who stabbed an innocent person and threatened to stab officers. He deserves to be gone.

@PyroSupreme this man got what he deserved. He was a criminal who tried to kill someone officers ordered him to drop the knife like they always do, and he didnt and threatened to harm them. He had his chance to live and chose death instead.
@chaotikkiller1617 Жыл бұрын
@@pyrosupreme4473 That is not 30 feet, you severely overestimate the distance the officers were from him. Also, I'm really curious on what you wanted the officers to do? Walk into direct stabbing range when they're threatening to throw a knife at you? Let him stab other people as he hobbles away?
@karenstein8261 Жыл бұрын
A couple of facts: - “Bullet proof” vests aren’t very good at stopping knives. British police’ vests are designed for such protection; those vests have a completely different construction and aren’t effective against bullets. - Anyone who pushes themselves about in a wheelchair has very strong arms.

@@xKoRxClanPs3 Collapsed lung is some scary shit. I had a collapsed lower left lung after my brother had one of his supreme anger episodes and stabbed me in the side with a kitchen steak knife. Spent three days in the hospital after my surgery to get it reinflated and make sure it stayed inflated. Wouldn't wish that pain and suffocating feeling on anyone.

I knew a guy who had no arms and wanted to learn archery, and eventually was able to use his feet to shoot. If someone posses a deadly weapon and threatens others with it, regardless of how many limbs they're missing, they should be treated just like everyone else.
