asalamu alaikom/good morning!! im 34 weeks now and base on my ultrasound may unborn child has a water in his brain.. it is late to discover by my ob cause everytime she did utz me she didnt saw it.. last two weeks ago we did 4d utz and she didnt saw it.. at 34 weeks his head size like 37 weeks.. my ob said his spinal is normal.

It’s starting to look like cancer add that I had cancer and that the doctor is trying to do something but they failed. This doctor looks and sounds very nervous giving this talk. I have Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. I'm 52 right now and the last time my shunt failed due to a blockage I was 13. I've read lots of stories on various hydrocephalus groups about programmable shunts and patients needs constant surgery because these types of shunt fail pretty regularly. For this reason I wouldn't want this type of shunt. Finally although you mentioned Myelomeningocele you never once mentioned Chiari Malformation type 2 which I believe almost always happens in people with Myelomeningocele. In fact I've read that only people with Myelomeningocele get type 2 Chiari Malformation.

There is always a danger with surgery, but if you require a brain surgery, it will be worth it. I have had a total of eight thus far in my life time. If you or your child has hydrocephalus, please get treatment. I went fourteen years before I was diagnosed and got surgery. The symptoms left untreated are horrendous, and eventually leads to death

Hi Doc. good day . watching from the Philippines. can I ask for help regarding my son's condition . he has a congenital hydrocephalus, 20days after he was born he undergo VP Shunt and now he is 7months old and still don't react using his eyes and the valve on his shunt don't push back quickly when press, the doctor said that its normal when there is not enough water pressure on his head . . for his eyes he is now wearing a glasses with 100 grades under observation for 1 month . is there any possibility that my son can see? is the slow push back normal when there is no pressure on the brain? or this is a symptoms of over draining or there is blockage on the shunt? . thank you and more power
