I was a trapping fanatic when I was in high school , I’m 52 and haven’t trapped since then... I borrowed 6 traps from my girl friends dad and set them today after watching your videos... I learned sooo much it’s unbeleivable .... I can’t wait to check them in the morning. Your show is the best ever!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Great video! I run a large hunting ranch in S. Texas and we're covered up in coyotes and bobcats and they put a big hurt on our fawn crop every year. If our hunters don't find a deer within a few hours, the meat is almost always lost to coyotes. They provide a lot of entertainment in the off season, calling for them; but it doesn't make a dent in their numbers. Y'all's videos are helping me get off to a running start trapping them - THANKS! Also, the cinematography and the editing is REALLY nice! I film for a long-running hunting show on the Outdoor Channel and I really enjoyed the camera work. Great job, guys - keep it up!

Great video man. You’re right, trapping is dying off but I’m right there with you! I’m 28 and started trapping 2 years ago. I was in a deer stand one morning and saw a doe and fawn walk right under me. It wasn’t 5 minutes later a song dog had its nose on the ground tracking that fawn. I sent some lead his way. Ever since, I’ve been trapping in middle TN with my MB550s. We’ve noticed our deer and turkey population almost double. I’m fixing to set this week and hopefully have some tight chains soon!

Amazing video and very informational. I was tasked with taking out some coyotes at a friends horse ranch. Thing is, I’ve been trapping by myself for not even a year now. I’m searching for videos like this in hopes I learn new things so I don’t let my friend down. Gotta say, this video was amazing. Can’t wait to try some of these tips

Very well done presentation. Good camera work, and you explained details very well. And most importantly... No Excess chatter. Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't hear anything about some of the other aspects we also need to beware of, like: Making sure to get the land owner's permission prior to trapping season. And informing him when you will have active sets on his land, (and where located) so that he does not run a tractor over your sets. Also, most rural folks have dogs, and dogs like pretty much the same bait that coyotes like... Sniff sniff. So tactically suggesting that their dogs "Just Might" be restrained for a short while...(While you do the lords work) might be a good idea. Also, I didn't hear any mention of tagging or marking your traps. Unless that is not required in IL? And lastly, as the old adage goes, "Out of sight, is Out of mind". Now what I mean there is this. Not all trapping is done off of dirt roads out in farm country with a majority of folks having good common sense. So, if/when your set location is near/within sight of a paved road with potential "Soccer Moms" shuttling young city kids about... Well. Do your best to minimize the visibility of said activity, or perhaps re-locate your set further away with less visibility to the Disney worshipers. Again, thanks for the really good video.

I'm personally not that great with scent control it's more about location how often the coyotes are going through or whatever you're targeting I personally like walkthroughs blinds and high Bank dirt holes with whole skunks inside the holes I put my Holes about 1 foot up the bank right at the coyotes eye level and bed my trap normally to the left of Center 14 to 16 inches out my best set

Due to the overwhelming, booming populations of coyotes, they are very detrimental to whitetail deer fawns, turkey poults, rabbits, quail, house cats and pet dogs, no we do not let them go. We remove them and are dispatched in a very timely and humane matter.

I think its true that coyotes have a impact on the whitetail population! But I love to hunt them for the fact they are the biggest challenge there is in the state of Ohio to call in and shoot! I get a bigger rush seeing a big ole dog slowly making his way down wind of me. Sneaking through the brush. Trying to get a look at what his ears are telling him there is there! That makes my heart pound more than any 200 class deer period! Nice video M.A.
