Dear Sir, at 33:30, if P acts in that direction causing linear elongation, wouldnt the diameter become shorter? the expression being L+del L and d-del d?

Sir, according to me, for the last part, for volumetric strain of circular rod, if tensile force is acting, d should become d-delta(d). So in final eqn, instead of plus sign, minus sign should be there (Delta(L) /L) -2*(delta(d) /d).

Hello sir ,in last case of circular bar due the linear strain the length of bar which is L will increase to L+∆l. so due to this... Don't you think if the length increases diameter will decrease.and it will become (d-∆d) form d..as I learn from your vedio this term will not affect on the equation because it is very small and negligible...I am not pointing out your mistake may be this won't be a mistake..and I dint take it in right way . ....this is just a dout in mind mind....

Sir in volumetric strain in circular bar when length of the bar increases then will diameter decrease or increase in order to maintain volume constant.

Sir When there is change in length (l) there must be change in diameter if length inc. Then d is going to dec. So why add Delta d to it. It suppose to be dec.

Sir.... Due to tensile stress, the diameter of cylindrical bar will decrease so, why you used /\L + L??

Sir for the volumetric strain of cylinder bar the final formula is wrong I think.. It should come Volumetric strain = strain in length - twice the strain of diameter This formula is given in R K BANSAL book
@kishoreb8030
@kishoreb8030 4 жыл бұрын
Sir, one doubt, in Volumetric strain for Circular bar, the diameter decreases so the eqn should be d - delta d and so on in the final eqn also..
@raguravi1659
@raguravi1659 4 жыл бұрын
just Assume, You need not write it in the equation (since he is just writing the raw equation and saying that the value changes and not increases), when solving the values the del value will automatically be considered with the minus in before it.
