I never played the random roll spell server, sounds like that would literally sux playing that way , but Free Pick definitely fun.. I normally play "Turtle WoW" , because you earn everything the classic way , Project Ascension literally throws the best items with no feeling of achievements... why I had too slow down on that server , only way I might go on there , is if I can get my brother and cousins , with a few RL friends too play again.. I could see causal gamer dads with 30s kids and 4 baby mommas like them , enjoying this version of WoW 😅

​@@georgigeorgiev2451 mm.. the lvl 60 alpha will probably release somewhat soon, but it will still be paid access. the level cap has been 50 for 2 years, so players haven't been able to test and report on 50-60 talents at all, let alone the content. ascension is their cash cow and priority right now anyway, so i don't think they're in any hurry to release CoA

I am really liking this season but I feel like there is too much rng and I hardly get the things I want for my build, I have gone as far as doing 100+ rerolls to get nothing .... apart from that, starting a new build and see how far I can get is what I like the most of the season, I have to say also that the last changes of the call board I did not like, I do not have much time to play for work and stacking all those daily missions was a blessing. The randomness feels really bad, idk why they went back on levels giving you 3 options for spells. Random talents are inherently bad on their own, and even worse when a single option is forced down your throat at every turn

@Mcdoubles Dude i think the manastorms could really take a few hints from Vermintide 2 chaos realms game mode. Its almost the same premise but you see the randomized modifiers for the next map/level before you go there, you can even pick from two different ones once or twice through the run plus you get "shops" where you can buy buffs or modifiers for currency you get through the run, wich is limited to only that run itself. IMHO theres some inspiration waiting to be aquired there. :)

I'm loving theory crafting and looking for/constructing builds in this season. I have gotten skunked on a few prestiges but, I also got decently lucky on a few as well. I am kind of bummed that I have a couple builds I REALLY want to make but I'm missing just that ONE blue/purple card that is pivotal in the build. That being said I do feel like this truly is the heart of classless wow, other seasons felt like picking a class with extra steps. I do have to agree with you, though. First time playing ascension. I really enjoy the idea of drafting abilities and talents. I do wish however, you would only roll things that are relevant to your current abilities and talents (for example: say you have fireball. Fireball is tagged as [fire][cast time][dot][mana cost]. When you roll a new ability/talent it can only roll something with at least one tag from abilities / talents you already have, with more weight given to those with the most shared and most frequent tags. That way rolling away unwanted skills / talents as you level keeps your pool of tags small, and more likely to roll into things that are useful for you. Also Manastorm tip: if you go back into the bubble, it resets the adds. For big groups at the start, I usually try to nuke a few down fast, then jump back in the bubble before it disappears to reset and heal up. It’s saved me a few times. I also hate those portals. Mostly because the adds can have affixes. If they were just plain chumps, then, sure, the extra damage is a bit challenging, but I don’t have 2 extra tornados, 3 extra poison clouds, 1 extra bonestorm, and 1 extra manabomb I have to somehow deal with.

I agree that the bone tornadoes and normal nadoes are annoying, but none of it is very random. You can see a debuff on the mobs that says they will drop x effect on death. As for the meteor, you have a debuff that tells you a meteor will drop periodically, same thing for the portal that spawns mobs

This season has been really fun for me since I took the manastorm route. I saw they were adding it to season 9 and thought it was a great idea, definitely reminds you of diablo but if you’re into that stuff it’s extremely cool. WoW hasn’t had anything like it so far Also the unlimited legendary abilities and epics / legendary and epic enchants being stackable and all singled out instead of being together with an enchant is such a crazy twist for the season. Being able to have the most ridiculous build because you’re able to stack different legendary enchant abilities with other legendary enchant abilities Lately I’ve been messing around with a Lava Sweep / Titans grip, Titanic Mutilate build Elemental rend build with mortal strike / hateful strike Whirlwind / Herods legacy / fel infused weapon build (fastest and best for manastorms I have found. Using unbounded deathhealer makes whirlwind heal you for like 40% each time and your Herods legacy will keep you full HP and murder everything so you can clear all manastorms easy) Basically getting a max level character and running mythics and heroics and then seeing their dps meter going crazy I’ll message them and find out how they did their build and I try it out myself or make my own twist on it / the lava sweep build was my idea that I took from someone I saw doing a full fire build going with it. I decided to use rogue, energy regen, max energy talents. And using titans grip to make single target really nice and aoe good too with lava sweep and molten core/earth (I forget the exact talent name but it’s an on demand aoe while u use lava sweep)

Regarding prices on pvp gear: the most expensive piece is 36000. Completing a daily bg quest gives 30000. You can get the quest at level 10. So if i make an alt and just buy pieces as i complete the daily, i can have almost a full set by 60, so one prestige is usually good enough.

Was looking forward to a new video and like always it was a good one! Regarding Manastorm: The random stuff happening all the time/the portals/random mobs with all sorts of CC is getting less and less fun. The LBRS you did had a Crypt Crawler that uses Crypt Scarabs which summons random mobs (it's terrible when facing it!). With Dire Maul I've had the same, couldn't get passed the big required pull. Regarding Baldur's Gate: Would love to see you post videos of it, like the ones of Oblivion they will be entertaining! Regarding the one second of PvP: Had a great laugh!! Another thing what S9 brings is the Adventure Mode, have tried it a few times but the scaling is a bit weird; at places it seems I'm doing no damage at all and will die after a few hits though maybe you can also try it. hey man! the one thing i love and the same time i hate about season 9 is that its addictive. i really feel that i developed some kind of addiction for gambling, because(i have 8+ days ingame in this season) the feeling when u finally get the talent card after 1000 packs (for example i got Eclipse at dawn, wich makes Sunburst instant and it one of the best builds right now) its really satisfying, may be compared with the feeling gamblers feel on wining, that keeps them playing. i got a little scared about this feeling of mine tbh 😅 -Trocko baldur’s gate III BEST rpg ive ever played, you should try it definetly

It's been so much more fun for me this season then last season, mainly playing with buddies and manastorm. I've been able to get so many more legendaries and more builds very easily compared to last season. M obs have debuffs showing things that will happen, also you don't get certain enviormental things until certain levels so you can know exactly what to expect pretty consistently. I've been hopping on occasionally to get some manastorms done to level as a tank spec. Its really slow going, and I'm only in the 60s of the storm. The game decided to give me 7 different healing spells though, so I'm basically a god running solo in there almost never able to die unless I get overconfident and pull too much. Even on the low levels I can see the bs in the storms with the bonestorms and the shrooms, but hey it is what it is. I'm still having fun, and I've even dragged a friend from FFXIV into the Manastorms and we have had a blast in the chaos. - Keqing

HEY Mcdoubles LOVE your videos! i would love, like you said with the ManaStorms for them to break it down into brackets with harder and more things you have to deal with, + maybe a way before you go in to make it hard like in PoE or D3. but then id like them to add an upgrade system that perm buffs your toon in manastorms like in a Roguelike. ( a Moba in WoW would be great! i also want a Roguelike) i think the ManaStorms could turn into 1 of the best Roguelike game modes out there

i started ascension solely for manastorms, and i gotta agree with you tbh. some of it is just too much past a certain point; that start you got in DM north is an immediate gg on higher floors for instance, the scaling on some mobs + their affixes is nutty - same with some bosses that are capable of melting you outright without sustain, even with the pot. bosses like vancleef, mol'dar, and ESPECIALLY loksey are all insta-skips cuz they just aren't worth the effort unless they're a checkpoint. plus, the gear caches start to feel especially trash later on. i lucked out once and got a mythic zin'rokh but that's about the only noteworthy thing i've gotten in ages. . 9 prestiges and several 100k marks deep and i haven't gotten the cards i want either, which is a big L, but c'est la vie. ik what i signed up for when it comes to build RNG. still, manastorms need some work fr. - Ashj, Elune

Sometimes I try to make fun PvP builds, what I find fun are the large pvp maps while leveling. Its just complete chaos. One of my favorite builds was a really high self sustain tank with righteous fury and a shield, then dive into the giant enemy group in the hillsbrad battleground, go through all of my self heals like divine storm, the one heal that requires you to have blocked an attack and does damage around you based on the healing, holy supernova and do absurd amounts of damage from the number of people dog piling me. I am trying to get some characters to be able to raid/mythic dungeon. I also just enjoy making new characters and trying new builds with how absurd this talent system can make you. Trying to be able to straight pull an entire dungeon, trying to make various instant cast hybrid melee caster builds work. Throwing together mixtures of LEs to see what I can get. I made a thunder clap spam tank and then instantly got lava sweep at level 20, completely changed my build and I wasn't the toughest tank but I would top the damage charts by a mile. One thing I'm currently getting into is spending honor points on worldforged key fragments and then going out into the world and finding chests. They have some of the really rare spell and talent cards. Speedruns you to getting cool new stuff. One I just got inspired me to make a swashbuckler tank. - Vladvoncarst

I have never been one for the gear grind in MMO's. It's the reason I quit WoW and for awhile why I quit Ascension. This season for me has been a lot of fun because grinding for new abilities, new builds and just making something work has been a blast. My rng has been good to me and my characters have lucked out so far but each character I make makes me want to try something different. Gear is just for looks but grinding new mechanics/abilites is a winner of an idea in my book. -Yuuduu

I think all they need to do is allow players to PERMANENTLY lock a skill and talent each prestige. This would allow you to *eventually* min/max a build, and they could eliminate the need for the terrible card system.

I think the best way to enjoy season 9, at least for me, is to theorycraft with the cards you get. The rotation I would do is level a character, usually by pvping(basically free aura) hit 60, run daily callbacks, reroll abilities,check dps, open packs, and then prestige if the build didn't work out. The randomness in pvp while leveling feels fair cause everyone gets the same rng, so going in with a build from your cards alone feels actually good. Good luck mcdoubles. Please do not tell me level 60 comes out on coa cause the last thing I need is to re-download ascension xd

I would agree with some of the consistency in manastroms, but what I have found to be better for it is to play the game as intended, get a fully flushed out build and then go in with that. Either way, they have added daily BG quests on the callboards that make getting honor super easy. You can get basically a full set of PvP gear with a full 7 day set of dailies. -Sallywank

Manastorms are fun, but as you hit 100+ you kind of need to just have a non stop speedrun tank build as all the shit thats dangerous is just the on death effects, bonestorms, tornados, lightning, mana bombs, if you are never staying still they are rarely an issue The randomness in pvp is fun as hell while leveling, getting some random nonsense that works sometimes is a good time, screw WSG the Hillsbrad BG is lit af, fuck everyone carding OWTL every run and just one shotting in lvl 30 bgs lmao, unless you have a juiced out build at 60 the endgame pvp grind is pain Looking forward to more vids, COA looks like a blast can't wait til it's available -Sharkattack

I already went to your discord and was able to find your Elvui-string (Mcdoubles Ascension ElvUI (5/31) but when i imported the profile, it was absolutely nothing as polished and "fancy" looking as in your videos.. i really dig the esthetic of your UI, so a helping hand on how to set it up properly would just be extremly appriciated. I love yout videos u are the reason why i start play project ascension so far i like this season cuz right now its not boring like the season 8 when u just get lege RE and pick talets and your bulld was done in almost 1 weak then u start do raids m+ all 60 content and besicly its over u w8 to TBC same dung same raid end game and boring and farm money for no reason or buy mount etc now since the all talets and skill are RNG also alot RE was split in all single skill its make more fun to play and hard to create good playybale build ppl start do more deily cuz farm mark of asce now make sense more mark more roll more chance to get dream gear also alot ppl start play in open world hunting RARE mobs in HR or NR i like this season so far and hope u gonna like this to and make onotehr 200 videos abaut new crazy build :) like u usualy do love u support u and pls make more video 1 weak was to long :) nick in game Michas

I'm enjoying this season a lot honestly. Random abilities have opened up weird and interesting build routes i hadn't thought of. That said, i wish talents were either free pick, or restricted to talents that work with abilities you have. Rolling 10 bear/cat talents in a row, when i don't have either form, is really frustrating. - Heilds Edit: Keep up the good work on CoA! I'm extremely excited to try out a runemaster and cultist.

Mcdoubles, ive been enjoying the manastorms my toon Castie (alliance gnome) has got aoe abilities like no tommorow. love the vids. doing manastorms with CoA classes is really fun because those classes have ways to survive those annoying things on the ground. ign -Fa (yeah thats my season 9 character XD)

Honestly S9 has been the hardest season for me to get going in, I've made 1 character tried to make a build I would have fun with in Manastorm and failed miserable in a few prestiges. Made a new character, with a new focus and same story. I totally share your sentiment with this being the season of Manastorm, its the new fun thing cause otherwise I would just be doing the same things I did in previous seasons. Unfortunately it feels like in this season more then ever, you need a perfect set of cards to get a good build running. I return here and there, try again, fail miserably which makes the wait time between "tries" longer and longer. I'm hoping they change something, so I can give it another go - Challemoo

I'm doin Adventure Mode but Hardcore style, and it's really difficult to do but absolutely amazing to play. And it does seem like bear tank is the meta right now with all the damn aoe they have with runes and spells is so damn rediculous.-Brenda

Elune-sorcha I honestly loved season 8..yes when a new build came out everyone and there momma played it until it was inevitably nerfed but that aside season 8 was exciting for me..the theory crafting was amazing! But as the general complaint goes..the problem with season 9 is in the talents..if I could get season 8 talent builds and enchants with the season 9 content I think I would really enjoy myself again..right now I find myself playing on area 52 more just because I can still theory craft.
