I'm flying from London to Manchester tomorrow then a reverse flight next Saturday. A 30 minute flight is much more appealing to me than a 4 hour drive, especially as I love planes.

Another fantastic video. Although I would like to inform Mr Gavelis re: 20 minute airtimes MAN D-> LHR that in the days of Runways 06 / 24 @ MAN and B752 Super Shuttle flights, BA4453 Rw 24 @ MAN to Rw 09L @ LHR once chalked up an airtime of only 23 minutes! A/C in use G-BMRG. Average airtime I'd say about 30 mins using these runways but arriving into 27L / 27R @ LHR and having to do a few circuits around 'Boringwood' or Lambourne was known to lengthen things to around 35 to 40 minutes at times.

For both of us it was around 160GBP for a day return ticket. However if you have Miles or ''Avios" then you can get tickets all around Europe for as little as 25GBP.

Haha it's the PTU, it makes a distinctive noise like a barking dog or sawing, and is quite noisy from inside the cabin. Passengers on A320 family aircraft are kinda familiar with the sound of the PTU, but not a lot know what it is. Search it :)

There's also the point that a lot of people may need to get an additional flight from Heathrow, and IF Manchester is their closest airport, and IF they have a lot of baggage then it's going to be a lot more convenient to fly. Also. If it's a delayed flight and you miss your connection you shouldn't be charged an extra fee. Whereas if your train is delayed and you miss your connection you would have to.

May I ask very politely if you are familiar with the drive between Manchester and London? Because having spent twelve months of having to drive there and back every weekend, it was often about as pleasant as having root canal surgery in the middle of a Katy Perry gig! The same journey by rail as you suggest is the winning option in terms of duration, value for money and convenience but this looks set to change in December. This is when FirstGroup takes this route over and fares will just ROCKET!

@KAAKKK No the time you see on Airline websites is the time from Boarding to De-boarding or something like that. Airborne time is normally 30 minutes - 1/2 hours less. I'll make the flight video going to Manchester soon and you'll hear the captain say 'Flight time 35 minutes'. My flight tomorrow says 11 hours 20 minutes to LA but if winds are ok it will be around 10.

@Alexander38100 Power Transfer unit, it's pressurising the 2 of the 3 hydraulic systems, as well as a self test.

@gizzytiersen Why? You're more safe at FL350 than you are in your own home! Nothing to worry about, the guys in the Flight Deck are highly trained along with all the crew. Not saying something wont happen as it can to any Aircraft right now but the chances aren't that high. You'll find many incidents are caused by mother nature rather than the actual Aircraft. No need to panic! Go see the Flight Deck at the end too!

@gizzytiersen In that case you should take some time to learn about the basic's of Flight Aerodynamics. It will answer everything, it's great to know too. I mean don't learn every part about Drag etc like us Pilots have to know but just know how an Aircraft flies! Flight is such an amazing feeling, the best! Don't worry, it'll be fine! Sit on the isle although I recommend a Window for some amazing views!

sounds like the horizontal stabilizer trim jack screw motor. maybe flaps or slats, but I didn't seem them move in the video.

@HeathrowSpottingHD Yes but BA will replace some 747 and may send some a 380s to SFO maybe But me I would like to know the British Airways a 380 destinations. Also I live near YUL (Pierre-Elliot Trudeau international airport) and BA is serving this airport with the Boeing 767 and later this year with the Boeing 777-200. But iff you want to fly to Chicago there is a Boeing 777-300ER under BA livery. Finnaly I would like to know iff you have a mechanical inspection mandatory for cars in UK.

FL180 going, FL190 on the way back. Has to be an Even FL going up North or flying Westbound across the Atlantic/States. Southbound and flying Eastbound has to be an odd FL!
