I took my kids to watch their first ever game at Old Trafford last year when we beat Liverpool! That means that five generations of my family have now been to Old Trafford to watch the reds! Ranging from 1920's to the present day!!!

What's the point, kudos? isn't the place big enough at 76k ? The cost not to mention the disruption of re routing the railway or trying to build over it and make a tunnel under the stand is probably not worth the hassle just to get an extra 10 to 15k into an already huge stadium.

The Chemical works in the first image was the Clayton Aniline Co Ltd - and opposite on the other side of Ashton New Road was Ciba-Geigy's Labs - which had a NatWest bank alongside it. It's strange that City's Etihad stadium is only a few hundred yards further away from this location - but as always, City following where United led :)
