Mandala Dot Art Step-by-Step | Earthy Brown

Hello Friends! Welcome to another art session with me! inspired by Mother Earth and her earthy brown palette. This warm brown hue palette is perfect for neutral decor. In this step by step tutorial we will be creating a 10 inch mandala. Playing around with brush strokes, and creative dots. Creating other design elements from just using your dotting tools, and having fun doing it!

This piece turned out beautiful. I like the choice of design and color palette. I do have a question... this does not come out of a critique but as a curiosity ( I have not begun painting I'm still in the process of gathering supplies) I found it interesting that you chose to put your paint palette on the left, when you're a right-handed person. I instinctively would have thought that it would be placed on the right hand side.... do you ever have issues with crossing over your project and smearing the wet paint?

lol that's an interesting observation. To be honest, it really hasn't occurred to me that I even do that. But to answer your question, no I don't really have an issue with having droplets on my canvas, at least no more than the average that does happen already. I tend to move pretty quick when I paint especially when recording, so I can get droplets here and there. If I was to suggest to a beginner I'd say keep it in the area your writing hand though to avoid that.

Are the Happy Dotting sizes that same as the DIY Mandala Tools? Also.. wonder what would be the closest to the Portobello and the Mississippi Mud colors.. can't get those two colors in Micheal's Canada :( Also.. this is absolutely beautiful

As for the dotting tools, Erin Ridley at Espressoly4You on Etsy has a really good conversion chart. I can definitely say the two tools are different. I apologize I know you just got those tools also, I recently upgraded my tools over Xmas and have been using HD tools. As for the portobello and Mississippi mud, let me find out gir you. Do you have folk art or apple barrel paints available in Canada??

@@printsandpaintsbymarcy Yes we do have the Folk Art. I don't recognize Apple Barrel. I will check out Folk Art for the colors. Thanks Marcy. Update: just checked the colors (Matte) if the Folk Art and not yet.. will keep looking :) Update #2.. Found the colors on some other Canadian web stores.. but shipping is outrageous for a 2 dollar item. Shipping always hurts doesn't it.
