Step-by-Step Mandala Dot Tutorial Approaching Totality Eclipse Theme

Hello Friends! Welcome to another art session with me! inspired by the upcoming solar eclipse! This beautiful step by step mandala dot tutorial is a perfect piece to add to your collection.

In this step by step tutorial we will be creating a 10 inch mandala , understanding use of stencils and how to fill them in. Playing around with brush strokes, swirl paints and dry brushing techniques. Creating other design elements from just using your dotting tools, and having fun doing it!

Mica Color homemade paints: Universal Blue (If you do not have these you can always substitute by using Dazzling metallics mixture of Ice Blue and Black Pearl)

This may be the dumbest comment you get on this mandala BUT, my heart leapt when you said you grew up with 9 planets! I don't care what they say, Pluto will ALWAYS be an icy misshapen lump at the center of my heart! Also, the coolest dog before Goofy and my personal favorite, Scooby! I love ya Marcy and your ruler has been a Godsend! I know they were a pain in the butt to make, and I so appreciate it!❤

This is a great idea to do the solar eclipse…im in west michigan and just a tad out of bounds for the total eclipse but we will see a pretty good one if its not cloudy but I think it will be cloudy!

@@kelcritcarroll Hope you were able to see it! We had beautiful weather up until it was about to happen and then the clouds rolled in. It was a bummer for sure.

I think we might be related! Not really but, child of the 80's, into ALL of the pictures we've gotten from Hubble and now James Webb- even the Unexplained! I had the privilege to witness Haley's comet as a child, and of course the Challenger disaster. I know it was horrible and somber, but I still felt honored to have been there. Two women, one a teacher! Groundbreakers! Though it was terrible, it was also an important lesson because I wasn't alive in the 60's, and I believe we truly forget how special, precise and dangerous anything space really is. Those people were and are brave pioneers!

Oh my gosh! I sooo remember that. I was in first grade, and we were all watching it live on TV. I don't remember a disaster because I was so young but remember being confused about why all the teachers are so upset. We definitely have grown up in a different time. I have two little ones now and they aren't half as excited about this stuff like we were. My mom tells me about the first walk on the moon.

It won't be here until 3.9.2081 🙈 The brush cleaner is great, I'm going to get that too. 🙌🏻 However, it costs €20 here (which is 21.5 💲). 😫 Everything is much more expensive here than in the USA. 🤬 I will gladly share your video. Definitely an original design, unfortunately it's not one that appeals to me. I never thought I would say find a piece that doesn't appeal to me. Luckily we all have different ideas, different tastes. Just because of what I think, shouldn't ever stop us from coming up with new ideas for designs. Mayb a follow-up highlighting different planets and doing a collage to display them just may be a great idea.
