Mandatory Speed Limiter for UK Cars?

You may have seen the news recently in the UK regarding mandatory speed limiters being fitted in vehicles. Some articles even refer to retro fitting. before you get anxious thinking how much will cost I suggest watching this. All is not quite as it seems!!

I wish there were a type of cruise control where speed would be limited to the posted speed. In towns where the limit is 30, staying under manually is annoying.

It takes away the hackneyed (im)plausible excuses for speeding. The two main ones for a 30mph area being "I thought it was a 40mph road" or "if thought i was doing the speed limit". With an ISA these excuses have no credibility. (Imagine the conversation with a judge). Hence if your speedding causes death or injury you will have take the consequences.

Chances are they will use car insurance to enforce via policy pricing which is already rising so fast. It appears the general methods to control is fining and confiscation of any assets which plays into the hands of the WEF article "You will be surveilled 24/7, own nothing and be happy". However in this case we will see where is plays out thanks for the update :) I have only seen one person keep to 20mph in Wales lol

It’s your own fault, you were given control over a vehicle and you’ve abused it, you couldn’t self govern and now someone has to hold your hand while you drive and you’re crying about it? Doesn’t make sense, maybe you should’ve drove responsibly and safely and this wouldn’t of happened but nope people need to get to where they’re going first and fast 🙂‍↔️😂

@@KC-pz4md Hang on a minute, i actually do drive pretty damn responsibly, and i don't want that shit. And i'm also really bored of ever tightening control on absolutely everything we do. And that whole "pretty hard to argue against when it makes us all safer" argument, actually pretty easy i will argue against it, i don't care "If it makes us safer" stop encroaching on little fucking thing we do!

I’m safe in the knowledge that I drive safely and I will feel safer on the road knowing that more dangerous drivers are going to be caught out, it’s their own fault if they get caught, they should of been more responsible and think about others rather than themselves all of the time, I can’t believe people like you actually want dangerous drivers on the road, if you’re responsible this law isn’t made for you it’s made for the other dangerous drivers

Speeding is far too stressful and wasteful anyway. I have to drive on the M60 every day, I used to try and drive at least on the speed limit but even that is pretty much impossible without loads of speeding up and slowing down due to heavy traffic and people hogging lane 2. Now I just chill out behind the trucks in lane 1. Still get where I'm going on time, no stress, and I save loads on fuel as I rarely have to touch the brake.

This crap is because of the huge number of speeders both men and woman going way over the speed limit. The same reason ALL of us have to tolerate speed bumps. I drive the speed limit exactly (yes, in the right lane) and people ride my butt and flip me off daily. STOP SPEEDING everyone. My car insurance rates can't take much more.
