So much of the shaping is by feel. It’s neat how compound curves “feeling” right to the fingers will most often look right to the eyes, too. When I’m doing finish repair on a neck, I’ll tell customers that, “I can’t always fool your eyes, but I have to fool your fingers”. The even and smooth lines just make a neck inviting to play.

Anything special about the super glue used on the binding? Gel?
@RatliffMandolinsАй бұрын
It's just regular super glue

I use both liquid and gel ...........

It looked like you were using CA gel glue to attach that last piece of binding on the R-5. is there a particular brand you prefer and would recommend? (I've had bad luck with Gorilla CA gel, 2 bottles setting up before being used up, one before being used at all.)

The bigger bottles will setup, but the issue I deal with more is the tips clogging. In this video I'm using the bottles, but normally I use the tubes because they are used up before they have a chance to give clogging problems.

@@RatliffMandolins Thank you. I think I'll just got back to using the runny stuff. Bought a multi pack of it at Harbor Freight the other day, real cheap.
