Thanks Man. Nice one. That 12 string really does it. I was thinking that it may have been played in open tuning. Good to see it wasn't. I don't wanna relearn the fret-board for one song.

Did you ever give any thought to widening out the shot to include both the fingering hand and the strumming/picking hand? Nice 12 string BTW :-)

Hi Joe thankyou so much for taking the time to do this lesson-my wife plays mandolin and we just love this song. Paul (P.S.around the 8 min mark is the pedal note meant to be the 4th string not the 3rd?)

@PhilipK100 I would sound fine on an electric six string-use a clean sound and a little chorus if you have it. Normal Tuning The 70/71 recording is what I used to learn it with and verified it with the Unplugged and seated DVD-I would say it's pretty close to it-based on playing along-but I have old-tired ears-I try to help

One suggestion is that everyone refers to the chord shape and not the actual chord sound made by the capo. It is confusing to call a D (shape) an E. Otherwise very helpful

It's a lot to ask but why not redo this lesson and remove the glitches and maybe further explain the pull offs and fill notes. I've used this many times and I've gotten better but someday I want to play it just like Rod and you.

Oh, it just looks that way - use your ears and pick out the "important" parts and go with that and add to that - if I can do it you will too!! I LOVE this song and play it often. Well worth it..... My Very Best ~ Joe

gtrjoe1901 You know what.. you were right!! I ended up playing it, a few times a little while ago.. just by myself (no video) laying back in bed. Was just a little rusty in the beginning. And the main chords are so basic. Such a cool song! Thank you so much!!
