Brother Baldermort - It is better to have a span of few or even no videos while you rest and recover than for you to push yourself to the point you can't do this anymore at all. So even from our most selfish side it's in our interest for you to rest. But above that, you have to know that you bring something unique and the care you invest into your craft attracts an audience that cares as well. As Arthur Cronin said: We shall wait.

The Mandrakes are one of my favorite facets in the Drukhari library. I love that not even they truly know what the Mandrakes are. I hope we someday get to see the return of Kheradruakh the Decapitator, as he is a particularly ominous Mandrake among an already ominous cluster of nightmares. I would love to hear a an excerpt about him at some point.

The Dark Eldar are ruthless to other aliens, humans, and Craftworld Eldar, but in particular their own people of the Dark City. It is not unheard of for the Dark Eldar to mutant their bodies for better advantages in combat, but Mandrakes are a strange case of biological modification. They seem to be tainted by a massive amount of warp energies, and clearly they are no longer organic as they used to be.

Apologies for being late, but I refused to click on the notification out of pure revulsion, nothing disgusts me more than xenos - let alone xenos tainted by warp entities. Oh yes, I love these guys! I remember one battle where my entire strategy was to pull both of my opponents, the Orks and Space Wolves away from the objective point I was aiming at and then reveal my mandrakes so that they could butcher the few troops they left behind to fight over it. As it turns out, mandrakes do not like flamethrowers any more than warriors do, and the orks, unusually for their dim-witted species seemed to find me more dangerous a foe than the mon-keigh. Thus the space wolves were able to attack the greenskins with impunity and despite spilling an ocean of ork blood my poor creepers were eventually torched.

I've been thinking about Elves lately and I asked my self a question. What would happen if Elves and Orcs actually interbred to create a new hybrid race? My answer to that gave me the idea of a new race of Green Skinned Elves that have the speed, precision, and agility of an Elf, but also has the Strength, Stamina, and Endurance of an Orc. The idea of this new green-skinned Elves made me decide to write a story about it that has a very Dark Tower vibe to it.

‘A blade rammed into his back, and Burias-Drak’shal roared in anger and pain. The blade was wrenched agonisingly against his spine and he twisted, swinging the icon around in a lethal arc. The blow didn’t hit anything, indeed, there did not seem to be anything behind him. With his witch-sight, he registered a shadowy shape in the corner of his vision, and then twisted away as a blade stabbed towards him once again, putting some space between him and his nigh-on invisible assailant. His eyes narrowed as they locked on a lean, ghostlike figure. It became visible for a second, taunting him, and he saw a slim figure, its skin as black as pitch, with arcane sigils cut into its flesh. Its eyes were milky white, with no pupils, and it snarled at him, exposing a maw filled with tiny, barbed teeth. Then the figure was nothing more than a shadow again, a vague ghostly shape that surged towards him in a blur of motion. Burias-Drak’shal swung his icon like a hammer, the spiked tip humming as it arced through the air. The shadow-creature ducked beneath the blow and came up inside his guard, and Burias-Drak’shal hissed in pain as a blade rammed into his side. Burias-Drak’shal connected with a heavy backhand blow that sent the shadow-creature tumbling backwards. It came to rest on all fours, and its form once more became visible as it snarled up at him in hatred. Then it was gone, disappearing into thin air as if a veil had been drawn over it. Burias-Drak’shal experienced an unfamiliar emotion: unease. The creature had seemed at once familiar and alien. He thought he had scented the power of the warp within its being, but the creature had been no daemon, nor truly one of the possessed…’ - Burias Drak'Shal, Chaos Champion and Icon Bearer of the 34th of the Word Bearers Legion. '...The black figure dropped soundlessly from above, twisting in the air like a gymnast and landing in a crouch, with one foot on each of Namar-sin’s shoulders and one hand steadying itself on the top of his helmet. Before the sergeant-champion could react, the shadowy creature punched a blade through the back of his neck, severing the vertebrae. Its serrated tip emerged from the front of his throat, the monomolecular blade sliding through his gorget as if it were made of paper. The Word Bearer champion fell soundlessly, blood spurting from the fatal wound as the blade was retracted. Sabtec bellowed a warning as he lifted his bolter. The shadowy creature, its skin as black as pitch and with glowing runes cut into its flesh, sprung from the dying Word Bearers champion’s shoulders, throwing itself into a back flip even as Sabtec began to fire. The explosive-tipped bolt-rounds passed straight through the creature as it became as ethereal as smoke, even as Namar-sin fell face-first to the floor, dead. Sabtec lost sight of the murderous eldar and threw himself into a roll as he felt a second presence materialise behind him. A blade slashed the air where he had been standing a fraction of a second earlier, and he came up firing. Again, his bolt rounds found no target. Shouts and screams echoed through the lift bay, accompanied by the percussive barking of bolt weapons as more of the ghostly attackers materialised, dropping from overhead and emerging from shadows that had been empty moments before. Moving faster than he could track, one of the insubstantial attackers darted around Sabtec, a fraction of a second in front of his coughing bolter, and the Word Bearer backed up a step, attempting to put some extra space between him and his ethereal attacker. The creature darted forwards, dissipating into mist as Sabtec fired upon it. It re-formed just to his left, and he swung his bolter towards it. A blade slashed down in a diagonal arc, slicing the holy weapon in two, and a second blade stabbed towards Sabtec’s throat. He swayed aside from the attack, but such was its speed that it still gouged a line across the faceplate of his helmet. Dropping his useless bolter, he grabbed his attacker’s slim arm. Feeling solid armour and flesh beneath his grasp, he hurled his attacker away from him, sending it spinning through the air, and drew his sword from his scabbard. ‘Thirteen!’ he roared, bellowing the rallying cry that would bring the warriors of his coterie together. Thumbing its activation glyph, Sabtec brought his sword humming to life. The metre-and-a-half blade gleamed as a sudden wave of energy raced up its length, and he swung it around in a glittering arc to deflect a dark blade that sang towards his groin. The blade severed the attacker’s hand at the wrist, and the eldar warrior gave out a hiss of pain before becoming one with the shadows once more. ‘Thirteen!’ roared Sabtec again, breaking into a run towards the bulk of his coterie, which was fighting its way towards him through the confusing blur of darting shadows. ‘Twenty-third, form up on me,’ he roared, seeing Namar-sin’s warriors becoming isolated and surrounded. Even as he closed with his warriors of the 13th coterie, he saw one of them hamstrung by a slashing blade from behind and fall. Instantly, a trio of shadows materialised around the fallen warrior, looming like shades of death over him, and they dragged him backwards. One of the black-skinned eldar warriors made a slashing motion with its hand that parted the substance of the air, cutting aside the veil between real space and beyond. In an instant, the fallen warrior was bundled through the rent in reality, which sealed up behind him as if it had never been. Sabtec slashed with his blade, keeping the darting shadows around him at bay. He focused on one of the creatures as it materialised behind another of his squad brothers, its slanted, milky white eyes focused on its prey. Sabtec roared as he launched himself forwards and impaled the shadow eldar on his power sword, plunging the weapon into its throat. Its blood danced upon the energised blade, spitting and jumping. Sabtec freed his weapon, slicing it out through the side of the eldar’s neck. Its head flopped to the side, and it dropped to the ground. The glowing runes across its body blazed with sudden light, and then faded, smoking slightly, leaving just a shattered eldar corpse lying on the floor. Having formed up, the 13th coterie fought back to back, protecting each other’s vulnerable flanks. The enemy was coming at them from all directions, yet the warrior brothers had fought alongside each other for countless centuries, and each could predict his brothers’ movements with the understanding that came from a lifetime of shared battle. Heavy bolter-rounds from one of the Havoc Space Marines of the 217th ripped a swathe through the shadows, tearing two of the eldar apart. A pair of blades punched into his back and he was dragged into another dark rift that swallowed him, closing off behind him. Sabtec’s 13th blazed away at the shadows, most of their shots missing their targets, but a few striking their attackers, blasting bloody chunks out of armour and flesh. The attack ceased as quickly as it had started as first one of the mandrakes stepped into shadow and was gone, and then another and another, until the Word Bearers were alone...’ - Word Bearers from the 34th Host, of the XVII Legion vs Mandrakes during Perdus Skylla Raid. Unknown Date M41. ‘…The Space Wolf dropped the weapon and fell to one knee. His wounds were catching up with him. He felt his muscles weaken as his body diverted blood and nutrients to repair the damage to his internal organs. Thorolf took a long, agonised breath and stopped. Something was wrong. He sniffed the air, analysing every particle for the source of his discontent. He smelled nothing save his own scent, not the smoking shell casings scattered around him or the vapour trail left in the air by the eldar skimmers. Thorolfs muscles bunched in anticipation as he realised that the world had fallen silent. He could no longer hear the battle raging in the distance, neither the staccato of bolter fire nor the thrum of the eldar skimmers. Thorolf willed himself to stand and cast his gaze around around the street. Darkness spread towards him as one after another, the luminators blinked out. The air turned cold, his feeling of unease intensifying as a thin layer of frost began to rime the edges of his armour. Show yourselves, devils! Thorolf snarled, his murderous gaze fixed on the darkness. Gomor bled from the darkness, a trio of his kin following him into the corporeal realm in a series of wet, sucking noises. Thorolf drew his knife and smiled, his long canines glistening under the light of a single flickering luminator as the Mandrakes came for him. Not for the last time, the Space Wolfs world went dark.’ - The last stand of Thorolf Icewalker, Sky Claw Vaerangi[Wolf Guard) from the Sons of Morkai, Great Company of Wolf Lord Erik Morkai. ‘…Mon-keigh were such easy prey. Gomors mouth twisted into a grin as he watched one of the pathetic creatures pace around the power hub. He observed it stumbling around, finding its way only by the grace of the torch clasped in one of its weakling hands. It seemed these mon-keigh were born afraid of darkness. Even the boldest among them were unwilling to bear it for any length. Yet their simple minds could not comprehend the true terror that awaited them within the black folds of the universe. Gomor detached himself from the mon-keigh's shadow, writhing into realspace with a wet hiss. The human turned, abhorrence etched on his face as he met his killer. Gomor thrust ice-cold talons up into the mon-keigh's abdomen, drawing substance from his terror, feeling the warm touch of his heart before it stopped beating. The runes covering Gomor's inky skin shivered, invigorated by the kill…’ Mandrake Gomor during the Luetin Hive Raid.

Daimon X jeepers, Daimon, you really should be doing what Wolf Lord Rho does! Your quotes are spot on, always! Seriously, I need to get you in charge of a discord zone if you aren’t going to start a site. Your skills are mad! :).

I know that Aeldari are said to be capable of becoming better at anything than anyone else if given enough time... why did they feel the need to prove that in the being creepy murder warp beasts category?
@shepardcommander1434 жыл бұрын
@Lord Admiral Spire I know exactly what you mean. I mean I like the Aeldari and all, but I hated them so much in Battlefleet Gothic Armada. Once you got them as allies in the campaign they were essentially useless since they tended to just loose their ships like complete and utter retards and bail out. Do you by chance know if things got better in Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2? Didn't buy it after they left the first game a mess and was just curious how that turned out.

Hi Baldermort would you consider narration of anything in the necromunda theme? Your gritty style would do it justice.

I don’t know Necromunda that well. I don’t skirmish. But I will try to look into it brother. :)

Wow, I bought new headphones (Teufel) and your voice is really and I mean REALLY amazing. It's lile to hear Sinderman telling about the imperial truth. Also it's amazing ehat an affect the grade of the headphones or speakers has. Thank you brother for those works of yours.

Niddhogg Loki thanks a billion brother Loki. I listen to my work on high end headphones and it can sound great. Then Mrs B puts it on a bad old tv and it’ll sound awful. So difficult to get it right, especially with no sound tech background. My sound engineer friend can get very frustrated explaining things to me. Lol. It’s mind boggling how complicated everything can get when you first step into this arena. Really glad you are enjoying them. ;).

Possibly some training. Really shooting in the dark here, as I don’t know what I’m doing. Elated that you are still enjoying the little ramblings brother Vallance . A lot. :)

Could we get more chaos vids? Hope your back gets better
@Baldermort4 жыл бұрын
Seed Boy I have to do what may get watched. Chaos and xenos do badly. If you watch and propagate, spread it around? Sure. But if they bomb horrifically it hurts the channel badly. Basically, I need an audience to make a video let alone a run of them. I’ll try again, but if it’s a flop I’ll not be able to do another for months. So, if you want chaos or xenos vids - watch them and share them. Because it’s too much effort and risk for a few thousand views. Sorry, but that is the base truth of the matter. :(.
