Manduka Begin and PRO Travel Yoga Mat | Review + Travel Vlog

Vlog 017: I really needed to get a decent travel yoga mat. So I decided to try the Manduka PRO Travel Yoga Mat and the Manduka Begin Yoga Mat while I was visiting my family in Miami.
Believe it or not, after testing both mats I decided to keep the Begin yoga mat, which is made for beginners and is not a travel yoga mat. 🤦‍♂️😂

USAGE UPDATES:
26/03/20 I’m really happy that it is so light. Now it does fall flat on the floor. Sometimes it does feel a bit slippery when on downdog but not a big deal to me. It gets dirty easily though. Overall I’m still happy with it.
23/06/20. So it’s been six months already with the Begin yoga mat. Do I still like it? Well, my knees love it and also my back because it’s not heavy. But I don’t like the texture and the fact that it doesn’t easily stay flat on the floor. After every use, I have to fold it on the opposite side so that it falls flat easily. Imagine what would happen if you store it for a few days. And it gets dirty easily. Maybe next time I’ll have to accept a heavier mat.

Gracias Marco! I actually tried Manduca, not sure if it was pro, last Friday at the studio and I really wanted to buy great yoga mat since I was using one from Decatlon but a very spongy one and slippery. I was slipping on Manduka. My hands sweat a lot! So I purchased Jade Yoga Mat Harmony from the studio and I am so happy for now. Let's see. I am not a professional but wanted something great and I think I will love this Jade Harmony. Let's see. :)

Angel Atanasov oh yes, the Jade mats are fantastic, you made an excellent choice. I love how they feel on the hands with the natural rubber built. I actually wanted to try the Jade travel mat 3.2 mm thick but didn’t have enough time to order it.

Oh that’s so cool. I just signed up for a 15 yoga nidra course with them in April. They didn’t have more space for their TTC in March. I’m happy my blog/vlog helped you find a good TTC for you. So which yoga mat are you going to get?

Anais B yeah, the jade travel one. That’s an awesome mat, you have to like the rubber smell though. I do like it. If you get it let me know how you fell with it. And yes of course I’ll talk about the yoga nidra course 😉🙏

I tend to gravitate toward my Jade harmony as a travel mat bc I just can’t compromise on cushioning. It weighs a bit more than a “travel” mat but it’s the smallest and lightest in my collection.

Oh I like Jade’s mats as well but some of them don’t last very long.

Hi Tricia, yes I’m m sure. Very easy to clean and over the sand it won’t matter how thin it is.

I bought Manduka X last month. I just tried once because my palms hurt when I was doing downward facing dog. Is the Manduka begin material hard? It looks like Manduka Pro is soft. I am used to the soft yoga mat. Could you pls give me your review both Manduka begin and Manduka Pro for this issue?

Hi Elvaliana, the begin mat is firm and soft at the same time. It’s durable but I wouldn’t buy it again. I don’t like the texture, it feels too synthetic and almost like a toy. Lol. But I’ve been using it for two years and it’s still ok. The pro mat is a lot more firm and it should last forever. I would rather get the pro mat if you don’t mind the weight and price.
