I made a delicious red enchilada sauce that has incredible flavor. You can try it when you are unable to find the canned. ❤ 2 Tbls All Purpose flour 2 Tbls. Olive Oil 1 Tbls chili powder (more if you prefer spicy up to 4 Tbls.) 1 tsp. Onion powder 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cumin 1/4 tsp oregano 1 pinch of sugar 2 Tbls. Butter 2 1/4 cups chicken broth 2 Tbls. Tomato paste Make a roux by adding flour to olive oil and whisking together over medium high heat for 1 minute. Add in spices. Whisk for 30 seconds. Add in chicken broth and blend well for about a min. Add in tomato paste and butter and blend together well. Let simmer on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. I poured it into a glass measuring cup for easy pouring. It is so full of flavor. 😋

Believe me, you might be experiencing some shortages in the U.S but it is likely about a tenth as bad as the shortages will be here in the UK by Christmas. Think how bad things were at the start of the global lockdown last year, who 'knew' that voting to leave a large georegional group would basically decimate the National/ International haulage system
@angelaworley88393 жыл бұрын
my aunt worked in the school system for 20+ years.. white pepper adds a bit of spice bite with a milder flavor than the black.. which has more flavor than bite. white pepper can be used in things like grits and cornbread stuffing things that you don't want to see the black specks.

Those turkey teriyaki rice bowls looked so delish I ran out to get the ingredients to make it last night and I got home and realized I forgot the broccoli! I got so excited over fresh green beans that I forgot the broccoli. I almost didn't make it but I figured it might be just as good with green beans so I used those instead. I also doubled the recipe so I could have some to freeze. I work third shift so I like having stuff I can just heat up before work. I added mushrooms to mine and some red pepper flakes and maybe a bit more garlic too and WOW (lol) it was SO GOOD! I put some crunchy lo mein noodles on top as well. So I just googled it and this is what it says Freshly ground black pepper is often described as hot, floral, and pungent. White pepper has a less pungent heat due to the chemicals that are stripped away when the skin is removed. At the same time, allowing the berries to fully ripen and ferment results in white pepper's more complex, earthy flavor.

Lots of yumminess in these dinners this week! I make a casserole version of the chicken (using shredded rotisserie chicken) and dressing - it's almost identical except that you drizzle melted butter all over the top of the chicken and dressing mixture and it browns and gets a little crunchy on top (YUM!) An extra step, but the payoff if great if you love crunchiness on top of your dressing (as a counterpoint to the soft, rich dressing underneath) like my family does! Notice that I did NOT use the "m" word - ha!) Anyway, I serve mine with green beans just like you do- but add a spoonful of cranberry sauce on the side. (Now we're really talking Thanksgiving flavors - ha!) I like how the sweet/tart cranberries cut the richness of the dressing a bit. Total comfort food for fall and throughout the winter!
