Just say you don't understand and ask for an explanation instead of trying to belittle someone else's opinions. He had nightmares of this song and mentions that in one of their first meetings, we know this. The fact that he went home and learned the song shows that he was already beginning to face his fears and come out of his shell even after the little time they had known eachother and spent together. He learned it for multiple reasons to me. One, to face his fears and the fact that he used to actually have nightmares of the song. Two, because it's a song that first played in the bar on their first date, so it's romantic for the both of them that he would even go through the trouble of learning a whole song just because they both knew it played on their first date. Do you watch movies just for jokes and explosions?????? /s @@curto201

She has the ability to hurt him due to her history and he’s infatuated but also happy with how she’s pulling him out of his fear. Daryl Hall had a web series called Live from Daryl’s House where he jammed with all types of musicians. He sang his hits in various genres and tempos, and the show made me have even more respect for him as a musician. One favorite episode was Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty singing “Kiss on My List” as a slowed-down love song. Wonderful. Testament to what great songwriters Hall and Oates were.

This scene completely surprised me, he's so good! I was thinking he should pick up music instead of going to princeton. That's not to mention the emotion conveyed between them. Excellent.

He's a pretty big Broadway star already. Was the lead in Dear Evan Hanson.

I was bored last night and looking for something to watch on Netflix and I came across this movie and I started not to watch it figuring it's for the young folks but I went ahead and watched it anyway. It turned out to be a great movie and this scene was so chill and awesome at the same time. I'm sure Hall & Oates would be proud of his rendition...very well performed. 🎹🙂👍

Ok so I will be honest, I thought because it being a comedy, it would start and he would suck. What instead happened is I watched one of the most surprisingly powerful and emotional scenes I've ever seen. When he hammers in the notes, it is so intense. Well done with this scene.

I love how as the song went on he became more confident and started really singing and you could tell how much better he got as the song progressed.

And at the same time she was becoming less confident, second guessing her own actions and the effect they were having on him. Idk I haven’t seen the movie, but that’s what I got from it. Great acting and writing!

I just watched this last night. Shocking thoughtful and funny. The first half has some great comedy. Then pulls a switcharoo and tugs on your feel strings. It was way better than I expected.

Fantastic comedy-drama, and that scene very moving. So great seeing Jennifer Lawrence in a decent movie, it's been 11 years. She's amazing in this.

Heard this song my entire life. I even know the words but this scene hit differently. I guess it reminded me of a girl I knew when I was younger. I guess we all loved the wrong woman at some point.

Two incredible actors. Jlaw's nervous gulp and especially her little look off to the side, like eyes are on her, like she's been revealed and for the very first time in a very long time, she feels just a smidge abashed.

This scene is so vital to the movie and is enacted in sm depth because not only does he remember the song they talked about on their first date, but it is also the song that he mentions gave him nightmares when he was a kid. This scene metaphorically and realistically represents him overcoming that nightmare and also his fear of playing in public. Essentially getting a little more out there, which is so sweet and admirable. Such a great movie. 🥲

This was just amazing, so well done. To see two characters changed before your eyes in a matter of minutes. He gaining confidence he didn't realize he had, and her gaining a ability to care thst she didn't realize she had. Was really moving.
