Fun fact: Plastic packaging is only truly recyclable if it has numbers 1 & 2 on the bottom. That's because the other numbers are not recyclable in most other North American municipalities. Now, I don't know the numbers on the bottom of Blake Lively's plastic packaging, but the aluminum tube would end up in landfills. It's technically recyclable, but most municipalities can't recycle it. My verdict, as a journalist who has covered this issue for years, is that her product line engages in greenwashing like many other companies.
@Ghostfriend7100Ай бұрын
She's just a fraud full stop. She launched a haircare line yet doesn't know that a mask is a type of conditioner. She made herself the face when her hair is super dry and looks like the target audience, not someone who benefits from her own product. Her bottle shapes are not shower friendly. And, n a promo interview, she said she copied the Kerastase formulas of their products she likes. She wanted a cheaper version.

I work at a DV shelter and i think it would be amazing if she donated products or a precentage of sales to one of her local shelters. Blake could also be under educated about how to talk about these heavy topics and any local or national DV/SA organization would happily give education around this. For (maybe obvious) reasons i have not read this book, seen the movie, or followed much press. But i hope others who promoted this movie, or stared in it, remembered how these stories are people's real lives. Awareness is an amazing and completely needed! But the work doesn't end there. The goal of awarness is to create communities that are intolerant to acts of violence and abuse. 💜

Apparently there are a lot of people here who aren't fans of Blake Lively's hair, but her hair colour, length, and texture is similar to my own, so she is someone who I've always looked to for hair inspiration. However, it's become pretty clear that although I might want some similar hairstyles, I probably need different products. She is constantly having her hair coloured and heat-styled for press events and movies. She said that all the hairstylists in her industry only use masks, not conditioner, but that's probably just because they are always working on such damaged hair. I'm kind of surprised that these products worked this well for you, as they seem to be primarily designed for Blake Lively's hair type alone. Marketing blunders aside, this brand seems too narrowly focused to be successful. Also, as someone else mentioned, why do they all have different scents? Then it's weird when you start layering products.

@RochelleHasTooManyHobbiesАй бұрын
Because unlike a 5 or 6, where you know you wouldn't bother buying it, or an 8-10 where you definitely would, a 7 feels like an "on the fence" rating. My only problem with the 7 is that I don't know if she's rating it as a 7 at that price point (~$20/product) or as a 7 compared to 8s, 9s, and 10s of luxury brands that can run $30-60/product. It's a big difference to curly girls on a budget who can't afford to make their hair a monthly expense.

5:00 Mell, that was so prophetic considering recent news that Baldoni did in fact conduct a smear campaign against Blake Lively to cover up his sexual harassment of her on set. I feel so bad for her and mad at myself for falling for the misogynistic attacks against her. No joke, i’m gonna buy her hair products to support her.

I'm going to withhold judgment. Blake always had a bad reputation in the public eye even before this movie. So no smear campaign was needed. Plus he's planning a lawsuit against her and others so more will come out.

Hang on…whether or not she was sexually harassed has nothing to do with the fact that she released a hair care line AND an alcohol line while promoting a movie about DV
