Frizz doesn't look that bad on type 3 or type 4 curls. It looks the worst when you have wavy or a mix of wavy and curly.

I feel it doesn't look "bad" to us is because most of us have lived with frizzy hair and didn't know it. At least for me, I thought type 4 hair simply grew that way until I learned about hair types, proper hair care and everything in between (I'm Type 4 btw).

I’ve always struggled and had insecurities with my hair since I was a little kid. I was so amazed and envious by how beautiful everyone’s hair look like as well as how healthy they looked. I’ve wanted to become a hair stylist for years but I always felt so insecure and discouraged by how my hair isn’t healthy nor I did not even know where or how to start. Ever since I found your KZbin channel I became obsessed and changed my hair 180° by watching almost every video you posted! I have improved my hair so much and thanks to you and your seester Amanda you guys gave me the confidence and the courage to decide on going to a hair school next year. This may not be a big deal but honestly I wouldn’t have been so confident and feel so amazing if it weren’t for you two. I learned so much about my hair and learning more day by day makes me just fall in love with hair even more knowing that my curls can turn out to be healthy like yours and I truly appreciate it for all the videos and the effort you put in these videos! You’re my hero and forever will love your videos❤️ I hope that soon one day when I do peoples hairs and give them tips on how to help out their hair that they see results and learn more about their own individual hair just like the amazing Mel!!! That was the clue that led to me admitting I had wavy hair. Many of my hair's are my mostly straight. Some are actual curls that, well, curl and are springy and everything. So if I just air dry, brush, and attempt to wear my heart "straight" in the PNW I just get weird springy bits all over and frizz galore. The routine I just mentioned worked just fine when I lived in a desert though.

Adding Olaplex to my next sephora order! Thank you for all of your time and effort you put into teaching us how to care for our curls. Since I've adapted my haircare routine to specifically high porosity needs, it has really taken on such a life of it's own and I absolutely LOVE it now. I spent decades not knowing why things I was trying weren't working for me like they were for other people. Turns out, I was mostly using products best suited for low porosity instead and every thing I gained from one would basically just cancel out another. Now that you've educated "why" to use "what" and "when", it's been a total game changer!

Mel you make finger coiling look so easy!! I’ve followed your tips and tricks from videos, and my hair just doesn’t respond like that. It doesn’t bounce or spring back up when I’ve finger coiled it, it stays long, drawn out and twisted. Help please. 😭🤞🏻
@carinagonzalez74214 жыл бұрын
That happens to me too!!! I find if I twist too much it will just be a random twist lol. The way mine works best is if it’s wet when I finger coil and then still scrunch scrunch scrunch until it coils! If the scrunch doesn’t work I will literally wrap it around my finger like you would a wand and hold until it stays then release and not touch until it dries. I mainly only take the time do that on my front pieces though lol

Mel I have a question.. when I put product in my hair and I let it naturally air dry, I get 2b 2C waves. But when I put products in my hair and style my hair with DENMAN BRUSH, and also DIFFUSE, my curls are 3a 3b.. So I’m a little confuse as to what the natural texture of my hair actually is? Also why does this happen? Does the denman brush have the ability to change the natural texture of your hair ?
@aleksandralempart83054 жыл бұрын
Too much product will weigh your hair down. Lightweight products can help with that. Denman will help distribute products evenly and remove fairy knots

How often should you apply a leave in conditioner? I wash and condition once a week. If I'm running errands maybe once a week I will wet my hair and apply a leave in conditioner then air dry. I follow a modified curly girl method I use a quality shampoo and conditioner and air dry and try to finger detangle .I don't like spending a lot of time on my hair.

Can a curly gal also have dryness if the ingredients may have drying effects from being used too often. Or will deep conditioning balance all that out. Hope that made sense lol thanks for another texture Tuesday 😁

I mean, I almost cried of relief. My wet frizz is ridiculous, and I’ve only found one video that addressed wet frizz specifically. My finished hair is good though. Working on getting it back to great, thanks to you! Why can’t I rake product into my hair and manipulate the hairs like so many others? My curls break up, get stringy and even more frizzy. If I rake, I ended up having the wooooorst hair day. Thanks for all the education!

Love your videos! I'm definitely going to try those products! Sounds strange, but it's nice to know there are other girls out there finger coiling for 45 minutes after a shower- haha. My whole family has straight hair (even my twin) so I spent most of my life styling my hair so incorrectly. Curly hair is truly a lifestyle that I had to learn! Thanks for everything Mel

I just finished finger coiling! And it took me yes 45 mins lol. I also have a twin and her hair is more like 2b and mine is 3b/3c. 😆😆

Thanks so much Mel! One question though. You said the Kerastese Oil wasn’t your everyday one. So what is your everyday oil? Which ones do you recommend?

I get so frustrated with my frizz but I'm trying to not be so hard on myself. I tried to take the quiz but it just kept coming up with error messages so that was disappointing. Mell you have made such a big difference to mine and my twin seesters curly hair! You have helped us repair so much damage and get back to our healthy hair! Thank you!

My hair is totally a different texture than yours, but your videos are so thorough that it feels like your tips will help me too. I recently big chopped and some of my curls are clumped together and defined, but most of my hair is super frizzy. I wasn't sure if I needed a protein treatment or my hair is just dehydrated. I'm going to try these tips and hopefully I can figure out my hair better lol. Thank you Mel!

My hair really isn't damaged I haven't dyed it in two years, hardly use heat and deep condition frequently. My hair is still frizzy and curls are very undefined. I try to work on my protein/moisture balance but my hair still will not cooperate. Any suggestions?

This is my daughter's hair, too! Never dyed, but lots of frizz and undefined curls along with very curly areas!

Do you live in a humid climate? How much product do you use and do you apply it evenly? How do you style your hair?
@cbostrom61404 жыл бұрын
What kind of styling products do you use? You need a bunch of them (and the correct ones for your hair type) to keep frizz away.
@katebozeman8464 жыл бұрын
@@mlala1814 Yes I live in an area that is quite humid. I feel that I use a fair amour of styling cream and mousse. I plop and diffuse my hair after styling with denman brush.
