This was their first time performing "Coraline" live, during the most important festival/tvshow in Italy. The same festival that, a year before, brought them to eurovision. Damiano's girlfriend was in the audience, and this song is supposed to be dedicated to her. So it's not so difficult to imagine his emotions and feelings that night. That was epic. Hugs from Italy

damiano is a very introspect guy. he is a very no nonsense guy, strong, happy guy, but in his personal videos or in this ballads (torna a casa, coraline) we see how sensible he is and actually i think between them he is the most emotional and the one who wears his heart on his sleeve. i think its hard to really reach him, but once he trusts you he gives you all

Lo ha emozionato la canzone a cui tiene molto , canzone dedicata alla sua fidanzata , ma anche essere lì dove solo un anno prima hanno vinto il festival e da li è nato tutto, l eurovision e il successo internazionale .Si è dimostrato molto grato al festival al conduttore che è anche il direttore artistico che li ha scelti per il festival e si rivolgeva al pubblico che li ha fatti volare in alto e li ha amati da subito . Dopo averla ascoltata altre 30 volte (almeno) non mi stanca . Ogni volta ho le lacrime agli occhi per l emozione e per la gioia di sentire questa performance spaziale. E una delle cose migliori, forse LA migliore, che si siano viste nella storia di Sanremo. Una qualità di suono, un timing, una fusione perfetta fra orchestra d archi , basso, chitarra batteria e voce. Un interpretazione straordinaria di Damiano. E tutto perfetto. Ribadisco che per me questa non è solo la migliore performance rock dell' anno, ma una delle migliori di sempre. I have to say, I'm Italian and I didn't follow the italian music scene with attention before Sanremo 2021 in which Maneskin won with "Zitti e Buoni". After that I became more and more interested and for the first time I followed the Eurovision Song Contest since the very first songs came out. And what? They won and ate the stage with that song and after that it really felt like a dream, all the news that arrived from Europe and also America about them were out of this world, we italians were (and are) so proud of them. You said this performance was emotional and well I can tell you that this was THE moment. They came back to Sanremo and performed "Zitti e Buoni", the song they won with last year and then "Coraline", for me one of their best song ever. I can tell you during that evening the emotions blew up all together in their performance: our pride really came out for this young and talented people that came and made history in less that a year. Also, Damiano was really emotional because that song means a lot to him, personally. To be honest I can't describe how I felt, but I cried with them and I was so happy, I can't even explain half of what this performance meant to me, to us. After all the success, they came back home and were acclaimed by everyone, and they deserved it so much. I just loved that feeling, I felt so united with my country. 💚🤍❤

They came back to sanremo after a year and when they had won there was no audience because of covid. the audience of sanremo is known to be very cold so the standing ovation at the end was beautiful for them. i loved two little parts of these lyrics the first one is "I'll be a battle banner, a shield Or your silver sword", those few words had a powerfull poetry , they means i will support you, i will protect you, and i will defend you. the second one is "Every little tear of yours is an ocean on my face" means seeing her crying is too painfull for him... is important to understand the poetry of this lyrics, seemed written by and old person with a lot of experience instead of a 20 year old young man.

Well, this version is different because it has the orchestra behind, the last part has orchestra and not guitar, on that stage there was the right athmosphere for this tune that maybe is more difficult to play in a regular concert with more rock or uplifting tunes.

L'emozione di quella sera me la ricordo benissimo, eravamo emozionati anche noi spettatori da casa! Damiano era super emozionato, per prima cosa perché la sua fidanzata....anzi ormai ex fidanzata....era seduta nel pubblico e questa canzone è stata scritta per lei. In un intervista lei ha detto che CORALINE è stata scritta in una stanza d'albergo da Damiano e Thomas e racconta la sua brutta esperienza con il padre con il quale sta, piano piano piano, cercando di riallacciare un minimo di rapporto. E poi Damiano era super emozionato perché 1 anno prima proprio al FESTIVAL DI SANREMO erano arrivati primi, cosa molto importante in Italia, e poi l'aver vinto gli ha permesso di rappresentare l'Italia all'EUROVISION e di vincere anche li, cosa che gli ha permesso di farsi conoscere ancora di più sul palcoscenico internazionale. this is all my speculation of course, but since Damiano was super nervous even before entering to sing, many said that he was just for the performance when the year before they win and everything started, so in the end he lash out all the stress and emotion. IMHO since the stand up of the other member too, I think maybe they where pay respect for the near anniversary of the death of damiano friend who inspired this song and he got super emotional.. but again, he never want to talk openly about it, you can find only bits here and there of the story behind coraline in the very early interviews so... it's just my theory

@@german_cuore9841 nope, that's a speculation, he clearly said that she inspired him to write down the song and put everything, only a part is inspired by one of her experience. the song writing was "triggered" by a friend experience, but he said in other interview that he then has put all the fears and bad experience and feeling of multiple people (his friend, his girlfriend, himself, vic, thomas)

It is about his girlfriend Giorgia Soleri. He stated that clearly in the most recent interviews. They hid it for so many time, because he was not ready to talk about it. Goirgia is a very, very strong and beautiful girl who went trough so many turmoils in her young life. She has a very, very painful health issue which is called vulvodinia, andenosis and endometriosis, which are all neuropathologies that affect the body and show themselves by a very excruciating pain. The pain is so serious that makes it a disabling health condition. She was struggling with it from the age of 16 years and she was misdiagnosed so many times, bullied by medical professionals. She was being told that she is crazy and that the pain is all in her head..etc...It took her 8 agonising years to get the right diagnosis and treatment. Meanwhile her whole life was just signed by pain and misunderstanding by her environment. That's why she was thinking of suicide. But since she got the right diagnosis and treatment she is doing better and regained control over her life. Damiano stood beside her in the las 4 years and experienced all that pain with her...since such emotion in the words and execution of the song. When Maneskin got world famous he decided it was time to tell the world about their relationship and tell it outloud that the song Coraline is about her. Goirgia (his girlfriend) has also a tatoo on her arm that says Coraline. And recently wrote a poetry book about her life and love emotions. She is an awesome person, very strong and powerful, well spoken and very artistic. I think the poetry that is reflecting in Damiano's lyric-writing is very much influenced by her talent and subtle poetic & artistic soul. And she has an estranged father and also had a miscarriage due to hormonal treatment that she was going true for her health condition. So the lyrics are 100% all about her and nobody else.

Да, это годовщина "Sanremo"🏆💛 к которому они так готовились - меняли образы, творили,справлялись со строгим карантином в Италии! Большие перемены в жизни, подготовка альбома, Евровидения... Очевидно, всё это ему вспомнилось! К тому же, этой зимой, в декабре, он болел, из-за нового вируса отменили часть концертов , возникли некие претензии к группе. Очень сложный был период, к сожалению, незадолго , в его день рождения, затронули и его личную жизнь😒... Конечно, это бывает в очень горячих, фанатичных фан -клубах - возникают версии, " разоблачения" партнёра кумира 😏! Giorgia Soleri is a model, an activist and a poet and her past experiences inspired Damiano. She had to do an abortion in the past, but Damiano never wanted to give more details. They have been together for 6 years and they’re very strong together.
