I recently bought one and I am loving it thus far! Such a huge difference.

Did it make a creaking-clicking sound when it was tilted forwards and backwards? Many people have experienced it and returned it. Some say it is normal and depends on the room temperature. Did you or anyone else here experience the same problem?

Do you hear a sound when you rotating a "fluid drag system: knob? Its like spring or some liquidy noise.

Thank you, that’s the kind of info I’m looking for. I have a question. I would like to buy this head to put my 82mm spotting scope on it. Would that long and rather heavy thing (5 pounds) still work nice with this head mounted on a Manfrotto tripod? I’m asking because I have to buy online (no shop in 200 miles) and their advice is....not really expert-level. Thanks in advance

Thanks for this, i hear people complaining about the plate lock lever being difficult to lock in as the camera is in the way. Also the thing is huge forcmy zv-e1! Bit i want drag control so the 500 is not sufficient. Do you still think thos is a good choice forcmy setup? Its in a cage, mic, monitor etc

When I take the mount off and screw it on my camera, when I put the mount back on I cannot tighten the mount because the knob hits my camera how do I fix this
@lauramcgrael48425 жыл бұрын
Slide camera just forward enough til almost tight. Then slide back to where u want it to set on tripod. Tighten screw rest of the way. If the screw is in just the angle it will not turn pull out on knob it should torn end of screw knob not screw. Then u can tighten. Thats how I did it.

Thanks for your review! I'm wondering how i can test this video head (I just bought from Amazon Warehouse) without a tripod with me.... Right now, i observed that the red drag ring only turns 90 degree and not more than that. Is it NORMAL when it's not the video head is not connected to a tripod?

I have a MH502AH flat head. The tripod fell down and the tripod head broke off from the tripod, The 1/4' to 3/8" insert was broken and stuck inside the tripod head. How to I remove the damaged insert from the tripod head? The weakest link in any tripod is the insert!
@LanceHochFlyInAdventures5 жыл бұрын
get an "easy out' set from home depot or lowes for like $5. you will need a drill too. youtube how to use an easy out. its simple and the threaded insert will come right out.

I've been a professional camera operator for over 20 years and have had the misfortune of having to use this head on more than a few freelance gigs and I don't like it at all, it's ok at wide or mid range zoom but for anything zoomed right in it sucks!
@TbonesTech3 жыл бұрын
I mean ya it’s only $200 bucks. I’m sure the heads you work with are $2,000+ haha!
@Aaronseye3 жыл бұрын
That's a good point, for the money it is good, just don't try and shoot a concert with it..:)

Ya definitely not! What typical focal length are you filming at with those zoom lenses at concerts?

It's a bad head, to start the lock for the head rotation, should be at the back, not hidding at front.

30 years experience here. The 502's right side lock mech is a horrible design. This head's ergonomics make no sense. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Sachtler if you can afford it.
