Welcome back to another video, if your new around here welcome to my little Geeky family it's so lovely to see so many new Geeky family members!
So for today's video I thought I'd update you all on my manga collection as a few of you have asked to see a collection update. As the video is really long I've decided to split it up into two parts, I hope you don't mind:) Part 1 will have all my Shounen and Seinen titles as well as a sprinkling of Shojo just at the end. Ooh yay looking forward to this. I’ve only recently discovered the world of manga in the past few months & really enjoying what I’m reading thus far. Your KZbin channel was actually one of the first ones I came across when I was looking for some recommendations and I binged watched your videos. You also inspired me to start my own mangastagram account recently so thank you! Sorry for the ramble, the past few months have been very difficult and then I stumbled upon Manga and it’s brought some joy back into my life so yeah. Your collection is so varied and awesome! I remember liking Black Cat when I was first getting into manga. Hope you enjoy reading it one day. I've been meaning to read something by Kaori Yuki for years. Might start with Godchild. From what I know about Black Rose Alice, the mangaka basically said volume six is the end of the series for now, but she may continue it in the future if she feels like it. OMG! I love that the only BL in your collection was sent to you by accident. The gays just show up at your door sometimes.

Kaori Yuki YAAAAAAASSSSS!!!! Honestly she does the BEST dark Shojo series and her art art....STUNNING😍! If you do get the chance to read anything from her please let me know what you thought, I really love to hear other’s opinions on her works. Thank you for letting me know about Black Rose Alice hopefully the Mangaka will decide to continue it one day 🥺

Great collection. For Monster, maybe you should watch the first couple episodes of the anime to see which direction it's going. The medical stuff isn't overbearing throughout the whole series. I think it's mainly there to establish the protagonist(a doctor) as a character who has to make tough moral decisions and it also links him to the antagonist.

If I can watch it on Crunchyroll or Funimation if it's available I'll definitely give it a go. I'm also going to give the manga one more try and push through to omnibus 2 I feel like I should at least give it one last try.☺️☺️

I’m on volume 4 and like Ragga said, not much medical at all! The first half of volume 1 was the toughest to get through but then it’s smooth sailing!

I just got all 5 volumes of phantom dream for $5, and I find it hilarious that it says "FROM THE CREATOR OF FRUITS BASKET" 3 times on the volume itself like chill you only need to say it once

100% agree with you not many people have Blue Exorcist in their collections. I think probably the anime didn't really help it especially season one having an anime only ending I feel really hurt the series. But the series is a great read and I wish more people would give it a try ☺️

Nice collection !! The only thing that is sad is that you have to start by saying how much time youve been collecting and that ypu bought all yourself so people wont get triggered !! Im a relatively new manga collector and i dont have as much manga as you but i love to see what people read so it give me a good idea of what is a must have or what i would like to read next !! Cant understand why people would be mad about an awesome video just showing the effort you putted in getting all of those manga volume !!! Keep up the good work to keep this industry alive :)

So just a throwaway comment here👀 I highly recommend Legend!, I've read a few Manhwa that seem to gather inspiration from the shojo genre but Legend has action and moments of genuine drama it truly is *chefs kiss*. If you have a chance do pick it up cause I don't think you'll regret it✨. (also the ending is well worth the read!)

Shame you’re not into Monster! Pluto was my first Urasawa work and I really loved it - pretty quick read and has some great suspense. Recently picked up Mujirushi and want to give 20th Century Boys and Monster a shot at some point

I really wanted to love Monster cause everyone says such great things. But sadly I just couldn’t get into it. I think I’m going to give it a go one more time and try to get through omnibus 2. If after volume 2 I’m not hooked I think it’ll be leaving the collection. Pluto looks really interesting to me love the fact it’s a take on Astro Boy it was a recent recommendation to me by Lohali. 20th Century Boys looks great tbh really tempted by those beautiful Sig editions not going to lie😂

Honestly I really enjoyed it I've watched the anime but I haven't actually finished reading the manga. I'm kinda worried the ending in't going to end how I want it to. I'm not sure if it's true but I think the manga goes past the anime if I remember correctly.>

I've also been collecting for about 10 + years but I've only accumulated about just over 190 Volumes & among then is just around 30 different series but only about 5 or 6 of them either actually I've actually completed reading

@@GeekyDreams It's probably SGT Frog from Tokyopop not only was it the first Series that got Me into Manga (Started with Vol. 3) it's really hard to find so far I've got Volumes 1 - 17 & 19 missing 18, 20 & 21 in English I believe the Series is still ongoing in Japan it's just a shame that it seems like I'll never finish reading it ☹️

sorry, but the mangá spine on USA is terrible, you need to see the spine on Brasil, have a variety ;some have square spines, others round, different sizes, different papeirs, so, check on Amazon, i think they sell. ( yes, I´m brasilian ) ( and I don´t speak english fluenty, I never took class of english, so a english guy ( or brasilian ) can you tell if i speak well.... thank you) ( and i have 12 years)

i'm only just now getting into collecting, so this answer might be obvious, but why are some of your volumes wrapped in plastic and others not. Is it a protection thing, or you haven't opened them? im just curious

A few years ago I stared bagging my manga to protect them but over time I just forgot to continue and the bags I used seem to be out of stock everywhere. But my manga seems to be fine with out the bags. I hope that helps☺️

Yenpress & Kodansha are expensive here plus they hardly ever go on sale ahhh it's so annoying I feel your pain! Plus it's such a shame the anime got cancelled I thought it was really well done.

Here's my take, your allowed to dislike a series. I think there's a lot of pressure for people to love monster however just becuase I think it's a masterpiece, doesn't mean you have to. I dislike some of the most popular and beloved series of all time, Fruits basket AND Sailor moon. I also own all of From Far Away and I think I'm probably one of very few collectors who owns the set and dislikes it.

At the moment I have plenty of room for more volumes so I don't reeky have to worry about that at the moment. If my collection becomes too big I'll look into maybe parting ways with some series that don't interest me anymore.☺️

@@GeekyDreams anime is long and it has fillers but after seeing it, i was speechless. It is so underrated. If you prefer to see cool shonen stuff this anime is coolest. It has a lot of flashy colorful attacks, spirit animals, i especially liked friendship between characters. Design of them is just wow. To be honest it's not a masterpiece but I would definitely watch this anime again. First 20ep are slice of life/comedy and then it evolves into shonen.
