I also think it's quite funny^^ And I'm not even a big fan of the "crazy", exaggerated Minako or how she treats Artemis here. But since everything is pretty comedic it still works As far as I know, chapter 1 was written after the Black Moon arc had started, so it was pretty early. That's interesting. I also liked these little Sailor Moon references or meta jokes. Here's some stuff I noticed besides what you said: - Chapter 6 kinda reminded me of episode 52 from the Sailor Moon anime, at least the beginning - Minako falls in love with a guy called Saito. This is a name Kunzite often uses because Saito-kun is Kunzite with mixed up syllables. He also looks a bit similar to him, but I don't think it's actually supposed to be him. Interestingly, in the first musical Kunzite is also a guy from Minako's school, like this guy. But it might be a coincidence. - Promise rings are a thing in one of the chapters, as well as in one anime episode that came out like a month later. - That one chapter where Minako wants to donate blood also reminds me a bit of the anime - Sakurada might be related to Usagi's teacher Haruna Sakurada. There are other women with that surname in other manga by Naoko Takeuchi as well. They're named after seasons. - This whole Aurora Wedding manga in Sailor V has several Sailor Moon references, aside from this picture with the silhouettes. Also, when the author takes off her big glasses she's beautiful - reminds me of Princess D. - When Sailor V shows up, she often names some historical person that might forgive the enemy, but Sailor V will not forgive them. Sailor Moon also uses this structure sometimes. ("The father of music, Haydn, might forgive you, but Sailor Moon will not!") - Sailor V chooses pretty absurd professions to transform into, kinda like Sailor Moon, who transforms into a flight attendant when going on a bus.

Sadly, Takeuchi has never given an answer to who Boss actually was. For now, I like to believe that it was Luna, even if it doesn't make sense timeline wise, lol.

Hot take: I just don't think Codename Sailor V was very good, it was not very funny to me, it feel like downgrade compare to the sailor moon ( the anime, manga and crystal), it drag on and Minako Aino felt like a worst version of usagi, it's the weakest thing that I experience from sailor moon, the manga feels like a better version of sailor v, I really wanted to like but it was very disappointed.

I think this is a hot take, simply because what if you'd read codename sailor v before sailor moon. I wonder if your view would've changed. Since i know Naoko originally started code name sailor v before sailor moon i always have based usagi's personality off of minako's even though i read sailor moon first, but i am curious to see if anyone has read them in that order and has different thoughts bc your take makes sense as well!!
