Mangalore Seafood - 2 | Best Seafood Restaurants in Mangalore | Machali Restaurant & Hotel Narayana

Yes, Mangalore is special for seafood. Almost every restaurant in Mangalore sells seafood. Which restaurant do you need to select for seafood delicacies in Mangalore? For me, I have taken the help of Martin (a Food N Travel friend) who lives in Mangalore for many years now. We had already enjoyed Kokum and Seafood Meals from Girimanja's ( • Mangalore Seafood Part... ) a day back. We had also visited the fishing harbor in Mangalore that day. But today, we decided to explore two more seafood destinations within Mangalore - Machali Restaurant and years old Hotel Narayana.
Machali Restaurant is comparatively newer than Giri Manja's and Hotel Narayana. It has got better space and parking area. However, when it comes to the taste, I rank Machali at par with Giri Manja's. Hotel Narayana lacks variety, but whatever they serve, they try their best to satisfy their customers.

Decades ago, in 1975 or so there was a bar & restaurant under the name" Deewar Bar & Restaurant "near the Hampankatta old bus stand. It was on the first floor of a tiled building.If you had ever eaten there you will never forget the taste of the food they served there. Even though, it was a bar restaurant, most of their customers were Keralite families who flocked there to enjoy their tasty sea food.They used to serve all kinds of fish cooked in different styles. My mouth is still watering at the thought of it. A few years ago when I revisited Mangalore after a gap of decades,I searched for this restaurant everywhere around Hampankatta but I finally ended up learning that, that restaurant no longer existed.
