What an achievement. The close camera and indescribable sounds were a once in a lifetime experience for viewers. With a blockage of such a solid mass in a shallow pit, is it possible to shovel out much of the waste into buckets, clear the drain, and throw the buckets back in with a lot of water in your wonderful Heston Blumenthal Chunky Soup style?

8:27 omg just thought of a great invention. Some blender “blades” on a long metal pole that fits to a drill . They dont need to be sharp, just at the correct angle, imagine how quickly it would break up a thick manhole

The effects of congealed sewage = looks like you should have a paint/plaster mixer to macerate the sewage before jetting the blockage, in that case the jet-snake in the pipe managed to macerate the sewage in the pipe. As you said the jet snake was catching on the blockage = a broken pipe/an obliterated Windsor trap had caused the blockage

You guys really need an "concrete mixer tool" for a drill! instead of the shovel when the "shit" is hard packed. to make it more like liquid. Have you guys ever thought about putting a long shaft paint mixing paddle on the end of a rechargeable drill to break up these "paste" jobs faster than the shovel? You'd definitely have to keep it immersed and let it come to a full stop before removing it but it seems to me it might reliquify the waste faster than the shovel.

I always stuns me that with the least efficient tool (a simple shovel) you always drain a block. I would at least recommend a rotating device for mixing all the solid matter... I mean a shovel is so so so ineffective. But what do I know, I'm just a engineer who wants stuff fixed fast and efficient. I think it's more an entertaining factor to do it as slow as possible...
