My husband passed away October 3, 2014 He was 60 years old and such an amazing Husband, Father and "Bumpa". He was on Hospice home care for 2 years prior to his passing and during that time he had some dental issues, well I encountered many times finding him attempting to pull his teeth out with pliers. He was not always lucid, so it often times became a battle to get the pliers away from him. Poor guy was desperate for relief. He ended up in the hospital because he had attempted so many times and with many different tools he obtained while we were asleep, that he had shoved a tool up through his sinus cavity and within centimeters of his brain. 😳😔 God Bless his heart. A few days before he passed away he asked me to take him out on Our porch, we live on the farm that he was raised on and we raised Our children on and as we got out on the porch he said "Do you hear the doves"? He then sang"On The Wings of a Snow White Dove" 🕊️ to me. It was then that I knew his time was near. He was dying of Silicosis, "Black Lung Disease". He fought for so long and all he asked of me was to watch our children succeed and Our grandchildren grow up. One of the last things he said to me is "I wish I could box you all up and take you with me". He was the most gentle man. He was 6'4" burly bearded big ole teddy bear. He looked mean, but I'll tell you, he never raised his voice to me and never laid a hand on me. That there is the definition of a real man. He Loved the Lord with all his heart and raised Our children to put God before anything. I am So Blessed to be his wife. I always tell people that I am not a Widow, because My Husband awaits me on the other side. I still wear my wedding ring and I wear his size 16 ring on a gold chain around my neck. I'm sorry for this long post, I just got emotional. I miss him dearly everyday. God Bless You Mr. Robertson for sharing Gods True Word with me. May God Bless You Today and Everyday 🙏💙🙌

I'm 63 now. The last tooth I had that got into the shape your talking about was last year. Right at the first of Covid and the dentist offices were closed. The tooth starting to get a little loose was my first warning. So I began to rinse that tooth with a soultion of hydrogen peroxide and water twice a day to keep infection away. Soon I was beginning to get low on peroxide and none was to be found as everyone for some reason began to hoard peroxide along with rubbing alcohol, toilet paper, paper towels ect. Luckily my mother (She's 86) had a spare bottle. Anyway, the tooth got more and more loose until finally I was able to pull it out by working it back and forth with my tongue until I was able to grab it with my fingers and pull it out. I rinsed again with the peroxide mixture and then did final rinses from there on out with salt water to speed the healing process. I was never in any pain during the entire process and I saved a couple of hundred dollars. No, this story doesn't start with "Once apon a Time" and the tooth fairy still hasn't showed up yet.

The level of ingenuity from previous generations of men is truly remarkable.

Instead of saying things like "manliness is gone in our country" like most of you in this comment section, he actually spent time with the younger generations. He didn't sit around on his electronics all day and say "I am a dying breed of manliness" and talk crap about other people, he taught other men how to be good men. He left alot of good things behind in the minds of others, he _cared_. He was humble, kind, loving, always putting the needs of others above his own, he was legendary.

Ever noticed on television commercials how they changed the man's role to the woman's role and vice versa.

A man ain't a real man these days unless he does the traditional women's work in the house as well as his normal job also. Commercials make me sick these days there isn't a single couple in a commercial that isn't mixed.

@@chrisbonham3667 it doesn't and it doesn't make me sick. I have mixed couples in my family that I love. The commercials make me sick because companies and ads fear if they don't put a mixed couple out there as representation they are racist. Just dumb and this world shouldn't be that way.

Fellow MEN, remember our Fathers, Grandfathers, and Great Grandfathers. They are the role models we should emulate. Reacquaint ourselves with the spine God gave us. We are every bit as tough as our ancestors if we choose to be. Thank you Mr Robertson for the reminder of what was, is, and will be.

My father in law passed 10 years ago. He only had 3 teeth left. I don't think the dentist pulled the first one. Jesus is life this body is only temporary. Be blessed!

Can soooo relate! Pulled my own dang tooth with pliers at around 16. Had 7 cavities filled with no numbing. Been raised to be tough all my life. Raised my boys in a similar fashion but they went on to get a PHD and a masters. They still think country though. Manhood ain't dead yet but on life support it seems?

Phil, I do believe that manliness has been diminished SO badly, that I fear it will never return to the ways people like us remember. I could write you an entire documentary about the men in my life and their legacies. I am raising my son (2 and five months at the time I wrote this) to know God and to do manly things. I believe that men quite desperately need to look inward and upward to God and hold themselves more accountable for the failures of our society. Know your neighbors, love and care for your wife, and involve yourself in the raising of your children. Fathers need to be present in a child's life

Exactly. Most unmanly men never had a manly example given them by their dads. God is the source of manhood.

I always try to think of the"old timers" when doing things. Luckily, some older dentists will still pull when infected. I have to be in super, severe pain and then, I still try to just grit and bear through it. Car wreck, pull me out I gotta get to work. I've worked while still spitting blood from wisdom teeth removal. Never miss a beat. Dying breed. That's what an old guy used to tell me. Thankful for the great men God put in my life to learn not to let the little things bother you. There's so much at stake to lay up crying about a little pain.

I got hooked on opiates for about 6 years from pain killers after getting my wisdom teeth pulled. They are in fact great for pain, but I believe they make them purposely very very addictive. Coming back to the lord is the only thing that saved me from that addiction.
