Celebrity worship and herd mentality are just lack of belief and love for self. Belonging to a group gives an identity and sense of belonging. That’s why they belong to caste, religion, place, nation, political party, fanaticism to create a boundary around them. Media, politicians, religious heads know how to play around this and polarise us triggering our fears. People are scared to be alone and scared to be boundless.

Risa completely disappointed me in this matter. I expected a mature analysis for the root cause and practical way to avoid it in future. Instead what I’m seeing is an emotional (sometimes I was even doubtful if he’s jealous?!) blabbering. I’m NOT a fan of Allu Arjun or any celebrity. I vehemently oppose this senseless worship of celebrities, either cine stars, politicians or anyone. I didn’t even watch Pushpa (not 2 even 1) or any of Allu Arjun’s movies in recent times. This to give a clarity on where my argument is coming from. Now about the unfortunate incident, it’s the fault of everyone but major share to go to these blind followers/fans. They need to realize that it’s just a movie and it’s his profession. You can be fan of the content or portrayal of the actor but not to the extent of blind adulation as if he’s a real life achiever that’s been portrayed on screen. Lot of people don’t have any idea of what or whom they’re following. They just have herd mentality and wants to be part of a group for recognition. But at-least intellectuals should always ridicule this mentality instead of showing sympathy to these sheeple. This matter doesn’t deserve this much attention for a nation whose people have everyday sufferings and challenges to overcome for basic livelihood. There are lot imp things to focus for the CM, govt, police, media than this tamasha. Give some help to that affected family and move on. Appreciate if you can discuss whether this is a herd mentality, culture, lack of other entertainment or high points of life that’s causing this sheeple mentality. Thanks for your time.
