YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! I love this band. I love this song. I love Ryan sharing Manics songs with people. Good work, mate! I first got into the Manic Street Preachers when "Design for Life" came out in the mid 1990s as I was 14 and massively into 90s British Guitar bands at the time - I bought the album "Everything Must Go" and played it constantly. I had no idea they existed for so long before "Everything Must Go" album came out until I saw them playing at the Hillsborough Benefit Gig in 1996/97 and they played "Motorcycle Emptiness" from the debut album, "Generation Terrorists" (same as "Condemned to Rock 'n' Roll"). I borrowed the previous 3 albums and the Manics quickly became (and have remained) my favourite band. Ever. "Condemned to Rock 'n' Roll" is one of my favourite Manics songs, possibly my favourite. Personally, I think that the first 5 albums are virtually flawless - "Generation Terrorists", "Gold Against the Soul" (my personal favourite), "The Holy Bible" (an absolute must listen), "Everything Must Go" and "This is My Truth". I would recommend listening to the whole of all 5 of these albums. Since then, I feel the band has been much more inconsistent musically - most of the albums since have had some stunning tracks and amazing moments, but there have been quite a few stinkers as well ... "Know Your Enemy", "Lifeblood", "Send Away the Tigers", "Journal for Plague Lovers" (inspired by lyrics left by Richey Edwards) and "Postcards from a Young Man". Here would be some of my recommended songs to check out from the various studio albums; Generation Terrorists: - Slash 'N' Burn - Motorcycle Emptiness - You Love Us - Little Baby Nothing - Stay Beautiful - Crucifix Kiss - Condemned to Rock 'n' Roll Gold Against the Soul: (Whole album, but especially) - Sleepflower - From Despair to Where - La Tristesse Durera - Yourself - Life Becoming a Landslide - Drug Drug Druggy - Roses in the Hospital - Nostalgic Pushead - Symphony of Tourette - Gold Against the Soul (Ok - you got me, that was the whole album!) The Holy Bible: (Whole album) Everything Must Go: - A Design for Life - Kevin Carter - Small Black Flowers - Australia - Interiors - No Surface All Feeling This is My Truth: - The Everlasting - If you Tolerate This - You Stole the Sun - My Little Empire - Be Natural - Black Dog on My Shoulder - Nobody Loved You - SYMM Know Your Enemy: - The Year of Purification - Dead Martyrs - Royal Correspondent - Baby Elian - Freedom of Speech Lifeblood: - Empty Souls - Emily - Solitude Sometimes is Send Away the Tigers: - Underdogs - Your Love Alone is Not Enough - Rendition Journal for Plague Lovers: - Peeled Apples - Jackie Collins Existential Question Time - Journal for Plague Lovers - All is Vanity - William's Last Words - Bag Lady (Bonus Track) Postcards from a Young Man - Auto-Intoxication - Golden Platitudes - I Think I Found It - A Billion Balconies Facing the Sun - All We Make is Entertainment - Don't Be Evil Also check out the "Theme from M.A.S.H. (Suicide is Painless)", their debut single "Mowtown Junk" and "Lipstick Traces" - an album of B-sides and covers - some cracking songs on that - "Sepia", "Prologue to History", "Forever Delayed", "Comfort Comes", "Mr Carbohydrate", "Valley Boy", "Dead Trees and Traffic Islands" I haven't really connected with the last few albums, to be honest - I don't feel that the songwriting has been as good - it's not a style thing as I really liked the variety in styles in the first 5-7 albums ... Just not sure the quality of songwriting has been as good for the last 3 albums, personally.

Great suggestions , they will mostly be used. I love all their albums, but I understand what you’re saying. I think my next song I’m going to share for him will be from their latest. He won’t believe it. Lol. - Ryan

@@WelpHereWeAreOnKZbin There are a couple of B sides that are massive fan favourites that were missed off Lipstick Traces that are worth a listen. Patrick Bateman and Too Cold Here.

@@WelpHereWeAreOnKZbin I would definitely say to your friend to check out their later albums despite what some hardcore fans from back in the day might think of them. Its like how some Rush fans view 80's Rush. There are plenty of gems on their later albums if you give them a chance! 😊

Richey Edwards and Nicky Wire were the lyricists. James Dean Bradfield and Sean Moore did the music.

i saw them play this in Edinburgh in 2015 on the Holy Bible tour - it was the first time they played it since GT era - or James may have said they never even played it live then. James got Nicky to "sing" - well say the line - oblivion is all we know. Which was nothing like the scream offered by James.

Great video, but just to be clear, Richey wasn't into 'drugs' but apparently he had a drink problem. I never met him, but I know James (we used to drink in the same pub in Cardiff (Wales)). The Manics are such an under rated band. They were victims of discrimination in the UK music media in the 90s because they were working class kids form the mining valleys. This really damaged them, with the right support they could have been as big, or bigger that GnR.

I love that you are a 'surprising Manics fan', meaning you don't fit the streotype of a Manics fan. Most of the people who listen to them are surprising Manics fans of course. You can never spot them until they say the words 'Manic Street Preachers'. I was randomly watching anther video of yours and just noticed this stuff.

Hey, cool song to choose! This came up on my suggestions. Search MANIC STREET PREACHERS CARDIFF CASTLE LIVE and go to 57:27 for a pro-shot of this song! It's a show from the end of the tour where they played The Holy Bible in full, and then did a second set of a really diverse selection from their history. The 4 shows on that run that they played CTRNR are the song's only appearances in their live history, so pretty fortunate they did it on a televised show!

Faster and You Love Us are GREAT tracks from this amazing band. James is one of the best singers in the whole world and a complete original. Me? Not a Guns fan, can't take that schizoid mutant Axl. Sorry guys! So now I'm gonna go watch some of those skinny East European chicks high jumping.
