a furnishing video that is more yap than build

hellooo i hope that you guys enjoy this video, it is a lot more talking than it is building if i am honest. but most of it is sims related!
i give my thoughts and opinions on the new season of love stuff and also the statement the sims team released on the "state of the game." i honestly am worried i come across pretty critical in this one, crossing my fingers it doesnt come across tooo much like a complaining session but hey, maybe we all deserve to b* ch a little bit as a treat. i should probably not swear in my video description youtube algo gonna get me.

totally agree with you and seriously hope we have a non touristy perspective if we do get a non american inspired world. they have the habit of writing moodlets for just living in other worlds that are like omg look at this so crazy so different! and it throws me off a little. id prefer if there wasnt rly any gameplay directly related to the world and more so individual features and the world being a bonus... i might be alone on this idk

no i totally get what you mean. i feel like them not treating the world as something “special” is kind of the way to go… like even in for rent the child of the village trait just makes your sim sad they aren’t with their culture, even while living IN tomorang!! i understand what they’re trying to do with it, and this is just my opinion and obviously these aren’t my cultures so i’m no authority on how they handle it, but it does feel a little other-ing to me that the worlds that are inspired by not-america usually have traits that take up 1/3rd of your sims personality just to be from a specific world/culture. i don’t know how better to handle that, i personally really like how the language barriers mod handles it but i understand that’s particular gameplay others would not want in their games.

39:20 is crazy because I SWEAR those are from dine out. Like if you asked me what pack those are from I’d say dine out 100% confidently. I’m personally excited for the new pack, but I definitely agree about the glitch fix announcement. I mean, I won’t complain about glitches being fixed no matter how small, but they definitely need to focus on fixing the bigger issues. I disagree about infant tuning though, I love how difficult they can be. In one of my main saves I’ve been focusing on (I play rotationally) my sim Kiyoshi, who is a single father with an infant daughter and it’s the most fun I’ve had playing Sims 4 in a minute. Same with university, though I wouldn’t even say university is super hard, just more so than the rest of the game. I’ve literally never had a sim get anything less than a perfect GPA even when playing with multiple Sims all taking 3 classes. I honestly wish it was harder if anything. I’m definitely for them making future features harder, and maybe even going back and making older things harder (even though I know they’ll definitely never do that.) Anyway, game state discussion aside, I really love these videos and I think your way of decorating is so detailed and cute! I love the apartment building and I love how you decorated this unit!🤍

omg thank you for the kind words!! and ikr!! i SWEAR those were dine out… they don’t even make sense for spa day ?? and yeah, i definitely am happy they are at least acknowledging the state of the game and hearing they plan to do these the next 3 months at least is hopeful. and interesting!! i’m glad you have fun with it! i cut this out of the video bc it felt like i was being repetitive but i have a theory that infants/ uni aren’t actually THAT hard it’s just the glitches i personally run into in the game make these things hard (ex: sims going to the wrong side of the uni building so they are ALWAYS late to class or getting stuck in loops of checking on infants) by tuning i mean stuff like that and not like.. need decay if that makes sense! but that’s just a theory i have. i think it is kind of up to personal taste :) also props for doing so well with sims uni!! that has NOT been my experience!! @@silleepigeonHonestly yeah great point, I think a lot of the difficulty does just come down to how buggy your game is. My laptop is ancient and would instantly explode if I installed any mods or cc so I play completely mod/cc free so my game is probably a bit less buggy than yours (still buggy though lol.) And omg how could I forget, the infant checking drives me insane!! Like I have autonomy fully off why are you constantly canceling my interactions to check on the kid😭 I do agree that that is *very* annoying lol

I really love your build style, I feel like I’ve found so many interesting ways to style objects I haven’t done before when I watch your videos:) It’s so draining watching the sims release buggy, bland, and expensive packs honestly. also as a german, windenburg is such a specific, kind of typical vibe. i live in the north and nooothing here looks that way here. our suburbs are vastly different, also to US ones. we have grocery stores in walking distance, little shops at the corners. a lot if brick buildings and coastal vibes but not in the icky rich people US way,more in the sometimmes slightly run down and cozy way lmao. imagine colorful semi townhouse buildings, i.e. soft pink, and yellows between brick and white walls. if you bike a bit you can find canals with old boats, green fields with nature around it. little communities of garden huts you can rent out as “summer homes” except theyre real cheap cheap and you find a lot of folks, where i live specifically lots of russian folks, specifically who have revived abandoned corners of these garden house communities, who use them for gardening. theres a lot of interesting and different vibes all over europe im so tired of the us centric buildings with the token eu or asian places as well 😭

not me commenting late to all your older videos but I totally agree with your takes on the new expansion. I don't play the game enough to justify using so much money to use to get all these nice things. I just recently buyed a bundle with country living, dream home decorator and tiny home (all pretty old packs compared to how now there are also 3 new expansions) and I don't even own for rent yet despite really wanting the gameplay (also several others). I just wish they fixed the game and then stopped with it so me and my mods could live in peace.

I totally agree with the fear of the romance expansion pack changing the game too much or changing it in a bad way. (I also hate change but probably not care as much in this scenario because I’m not as used to the Sims 4 as other people are because I used to play on and off) Also I agree with the expansion packs costing too much for what you get with all these bugs. I had a origin account with three expansion packs that disappeared when I had to go swap to the EA version,which is weird because in my gallery I can see those packs being used, but now that I am getting new packs I look for reviews and every single time I hear that there are many bugs in the expansion pack, which sucks because it ruins the whole essence of what an expansion pack should be. For example I would really like the university pack. Also I don’t think you’re being too negative, because I fully understand your critique, though I am still excited for a new expansion pack because I only saw the release of the cottage living pack, so seeing a game pack release just makes me excited, now that i fully got into the Sims 4. I do actually hope they add a feature where you can chose your orientation and stuff, but I have no idea what to expect, because I still have a lot to learn about the Sims 4. Also additionally one last thing, I really love your build style and your characters, I didn’t know you can make such cute sims and builds with just the Sims 4 packs and kits!!! I’d love a Scandinavian world, there could be a scandi architecture type of area but also an area with small red houses and then it needs coast or even better an archipelago. It’d be awesome to have a coastal city with older architecture like Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Stockholm. But at the same time I don’t want them to do it because they would do like 6 lots and only the scandi style or something😭😭

i get what youre saying about difficulty. a lot of its baby game easy but doing just two university classes or having an infant while trying to do anything else in the game is like. absurdly difficult compared to the rest of the game. i agree with you about not minding it being hard just how difficult random parts of the game are. it doesnt help that infants glitch all the time. also i totally agree about the worlds. i wish we had another big city feeling world cause we have so many different rural and suburban worlds. i know san sequoia is supposed to read as a city but it just doesnt. part of this just might be because of how few lots the newer worlds have but idk. just bizarre that weve got ~20 worlds and only one of them feels like a big city. okay now that ive negative nancy'd it up ill say: the cats do play with the ball of yarn. loved the build, the video, and the yapping. and im sorry you only got to enjoy a smidge of may.

yeah the difficulty thing is so weird. i think a lot of it is game glitching/working not as intended making things harder too. san sequoia being a city world is the strangest thing to me because it’s SO empty. It honestly should’ve been flipped with tomorang and been the For Rent pack and featured bigger apartments. i think it would’ve helped it out sooo much. i’m glad they play with the ball!! and thank you, honestly it’s been pretty rainy this may anyways so i’m hopeful my will be in june this year lol.

TOTALLY MISSED THE WORLDS RANT AND I AGREE! But on that same note I'd hate for EA to misrepresent anything about my country or to be lumped together with other countries because we're on the same continent or something. I'd truly love to see different languages because it's a huge everyday thing for me living in SA (South Africa) and I think that's one of my main issues with the game due to language being so tied to culture (for me at least) I'd love to have EA give us more culture within the game due to the additional of languages as well, like in my country (sorry if this is the same in yours and I'm just unaware) we have mother language day and heritage day where people showcase their languages and cultural dress. At least I'd like that to be an additional for the holidays with the calendar and have events for it (like being able to set a secondary outfit as "cultural wear" and say a coming of age ceremony or a holiday like heritage day where your sim can wear that cultural wear). Maybe if they could add traditional clothes for the worlds they've already made as well??? not saying taht the Sims needs to mirror real life but I'd love to see it be fleshed out by having those additions, more so than needing a half baked world to feel "seen". (DISCLAIMER- I maybe biased as if I had all the packs I would be somewhat able to make a version of SA on a smaller scale and I also have no background in developing and have no idea how much time and money this idea would take to come into reality)

yesss agree so much!! i really want them to add more to holidays. the holidays were meant to be really inclusive but at the same time it doesn’t feel like i can accurately represent a lot of other cultures holidays. id love outfits, custom decoration styles, lighting lanterns/ generally candles instead of just the menorah. and yeah it sucks to have to worry about misrepresentation!! i get why ea does these worlds a bit more broadly so it can apply to as many players as possible- but that does feel quite silly when the same game has like 30 american worlds and 3 different industrial PNW worlds in particular if you can play with mods i HIGHLY recommend the language barrier mod to you. i think you would love it in your game!!

I am not looking forward to the romance pack. I know it will be just another broken DLC with a bunch of patches and emergency updates and new bugs. I would much rather just not get any new DLC until they fix what is already broken. Unfortunately, that will never happen. We live in a society built upon profit and EA is a company at the end of the day. As long as people keep buying the DLC they put out, no matter how broken it is, we won't see any change.

Recording for 2 hours mention at the 40 minute mark and I feel a little robbed of content ngl lol but that's also just me being sad I'm running out of videos to catch up on. Truly hoping with each video I open it'll just start with you saying "I'm cured, yay! Never felt better!" so I hope that by now you are actually no longer sick and are feeling better finally. I feel that statement of wishing for practical reasons you could build faster. I think the quickest build I've ever done in TS4 took me 2 days. And I mean two full days, full 48 hours (over the span of a few days ofc). If I get a build done in a week I'm happy. I'm sure the reason a lot of Simmer content creators are so quick with their builds is because of how often they build and how much time they've spent learning where to find all the items, like they've spent thousands of hours just building in this game so I'm sure that helps their speed lol. But I am still jealous. I like the concept of the smaller dish washers, but yeah it makes no sense to me that they don't slot to the half counters so we're just left with a weird counter if the drawers don't line up well so we have to use specific counters to avoid that. It really does come from our immense love of this game when we talk about all the things we're still missing in it, like you say we wouldn't spend all the money on this game we do and put all the hours of play into it if we didn't love it. What we have is good and it's getting better, but we just know it could be so much better and we want that for the game and for us. Definitely an EA company and capitalism problem with pushing games and DLC to release earlier than they should so the players are left with a broken, buggy experience they're all paying full price for (I say they instead of us because this is a problem outside of Sims too unfortunately, and I hate it).

i promise you if i uploaded the raw footage it would not be nearly as good as the edited footage!! i pinky pinky promise it simply would not be good lol. I'm doing much better! i went on vacation so i took a little bit of a break. i should be back now. and yes i agree with everything you said about the love of the game causing strong opinions... and also what you said about this being non-sims specific is so true. cities skylines 2 is an unfortunate example of this. im so sad that the days of games being made to be shipped as actual finished products. back in the day things had to actually work bc they shipped on physical copies. now companies know they can just update things that dont work later... i really think so many games release things that actually should be more like early access or something.

@@silleepigeon haha all good! Your edits are great, thank you for all the wonderful videos you do share with us. So glad you're feeling better!!!!!! I literally feel relief knowing that. Very true. I don't think it's /as much/ of a problem if the game developers provide updates that improve upon the initial release and eventually make good on the features promised, if these things are done for free. Like I think No Man's Sky did that, released way too early but did finally update the game to have the features they promised. But definitely still a problem that shouldn't happen at all and such a disappointment for all the paying players.

I will forever beg for eastern europe because we get ignored so bad since we aren't as "aesthetic" but also I agree on the asian city, and we need more south america, oceania, asia rep in the sims because its so lacking imo

I definitely don't want any new DLC. the best thing they've ever done for the sims 4 (in my opinion) is the spa day refresh. They keep making older content free without doing anything for the players who actually bought all these BROKEN dlcs... like FIX THEM. They wouldn't even be losing any money because the advertising of old packs with *new* features would drive incentive to buy these older packs, which currently have no incentive to be purchased with their current states. It drives me crazy as a very loyal player who genuinely wants the game to succeed. I never even bought my wedding stories because of how broken it is which sucks because I was really looking forward to that pack. At this point my mods are the glue holding my game together. YAP ON!

this!!! the spa day refresh was super hopeful. i wish they would “refresh” the broken new packs by fixing them (dine out, dream home decorator, my wedding stories) and add more to old packs. i appreciate that it is nice for players to get things for free, but it’s a little insulting that basically most the things i paid full price for as DLCs have been added for free. like these things that at the time were main selling points packs… i’m happy that they are base game bc i feel these things should’ve always been base game, (photography skill, hot tubs, to name a few). and DO NOT think other players should have to pay for them….but it’s just like a slap in the face to those of us who DID spend money on these packs to be so ignored. we paid for base game content- i feel like they should add in a special treat for those of us who did that. or at the very very least… fix the broken packs!!

if people say "suburbs look the same wherever you go" in reference to europe vs US/canada. im begging them to actually go anywhere in europe. even the uk, NOTHING like north american suburbia. i wouldnt ask for more uk worlds really - we only really have rural england based locations, but it'd be way more interesting if they wanted a more urban setting to go somewhere else in europe, I'd say eastern europe because we have tartosa and windenburg (italy/mediterranean, northern/central eg germany) and ive seen loaaads of people looking for an eastern europe world

I don’t think you’re being negative it’s the truth we pay too much money to keep experiencing bugs in the game. I agree they seriously need to fix the infant bug. My sim will literally pick up the baby over and over it’s so annoying.

I have also been sick almost all of may. I literally got sick on 30th of April and I was sick until like last week, and now I am getting sick again. I feel you. I do have a known immune issue though, and I got a new medication to try. So hopefully it will turn around and be better (for both of us).

@@silleepigeon same to you! I had to go through a LOT to get my university professor to understand that when I said I was sick, I meant it. It has been horrendous. But I hope we both get better now. Most people don't seem to realise that just because they are fine after a day doesn't mean that's the case for everyone. And they are often still infectious spreading it around even if they feel fine.

Am i the only one who wants them to add it even if its kinda buggy? I play on console and cant use mods so i never understand the argument that modders do it better. Obviously they do, but i dont think thats a reason for the team to not add it to the game even if the end result is kinda bad as i feel thats better than it not being there at all😂 id rather not have to pay for it obviously especially if its bad

i mean, i’d normally agree with you but the problem is when it’s so broken it’s unplayable- it is actually better they leave it alone in that instance. MWS for a lot of people won’t even let sims get married. i worry the EP will take away dates too
