It's unfortunate that if these allegations were about Pakistan infiltrating, the central ministry would be vying for political advantage. After 2014 there is sharp rise of Tribal status demand and its politics. For example it is prominet in Jharkhand, Kashmir, Uttarkhand, himalchal pradesh, karanataka , sikkim and west bengal. Here in west bengal BJP is trying to make all Gorkha community tribal just to shrug off the Gorkhaland state demand. In sikkim also political party have also made ST status for Nepali/Gorkha community as mainstream political issue because they are labelled as foreign origin and Having ST status will naturally give them status of native/indegious but the in reality Gorkha/Nepali community consist of Brahmin, kshatryi, shudra like any community of general Indian and these Brahmin chatriya traces their ancestry directly from Varansi. Also Ministry of tribals [before 2014] have already rejected this demand citing "no historical and cultural traits found in these communuty". But inspite of all these centre is preparing give ST status which is wrong both constitutionally n ethically at the same time its the repeatation of oppression n exploitation of vulnarable tribal community. I see its a same thing in manipur, where its most about the reservation and land access. Its unfortunate how the meitie community too fell for this. Throughout the history tribal were drove away from their homeland. When will this inhuman trend stop???

Myanmar border is very porous n since conditions for ethnic minorities in myanmar is horrible, there has been continuos influx of illegal immigrants plus armed rebels inside manipur. Mizoram , assam, tripura n west bengal also have similar issues. Even indo nepal border has become a entry point not only for nepali citizen but Bangladeshis n pakistanis.
