honestly, you have some of the best videos on ICE MACHINE repair. Please keep them coming. I fix these machines but hate those long Manitowoc seminars. Your method takes less time and explain it better. Same with Hoshizaki machines. Thanks again -

Thanks for sharing. Could you please advise if top 4-5 rows are thin compared to the bottom rows is it low refirgerant symptom or could be other causes as well?
@IceMachine4118 ай бұрын
Could be a charge issue. Could also be a TXV issue. Hard to say unless I’m looking at it myself.
@thecurious67218 ай бұрын
@@IceMachine411 thanks. But it is the refrigeration related issue, not water related issue (like water pressure or smth else), right?
@IceMachine4118 ай бұрын
I would assume not a water issue. As long as you’re not running out of water by the end of freeze and the machine isn’t constantly adding new water to the trough.

Will a bad ice thickness probe create a "Long Harvest" and "Long Freeze" code and shutdown? TIA
@IceMachine4114 ай бұрын
Long freeze for sure. The ice is never sensed by the ice thickness probe. The machine will automatically go into harvest after max freeze time is reached. The ice may or may not harvest. Just depends on how thick the ice gets and whether or not it’s caught on something.
@sphillips83624 ай бұрын
@@IceMachine411 Thanks. I changed out the ice probe and water level sensor. Now it goes into making ice mode, harvest, thaw, and bin full mode. Never makes any ice. Starving TXV

I tried the tap test on the back of the probe, and it only jumped up to around 200-300, I see that’s way to low but does it matter that I did the back side and not the nipple? Tech support had me change the probe with a spare, but the unit was still making a 1/4-3/8 bridge and not braking. When the water started covering the probe, it stayed down around 80-90. 2 sensors with the same reading, could that be a bad board or just 2 bad sensors? I did have 3.3 vdc coming out of the board also Also thanks for the video, It was very educational!
@IceMachine4117 ай бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. Hmmm. I’m glad you spoke with tech support because they are the best resource available. I’m not comfortable saying it’s a bad board because they’re expensive and I don’t want to be wrong. 3.25-3.35 VDC is what the board should be putting out so it probably good.
@flyinghigh55317 ай бұрын
@@IceMachine411 I did update and replace the probe again, been working ever since! The probe was actually sensing and jumping up like it should, 1/8 inch bridge. It was great. Your video helped a lot though, keep em up!
@IceMachine4117 ай бұрын
Love it!
@Supanova704 ай бұрын
But how do you actually adust the distance of the probe to Evap?
@IceMachine4114 ай бұрын
There’s a screw on the probe. Clockwise increases the thickness and counter clockwise decreases.
@emochickluvzblk3 ай бұрын
Use either a 9/32 drill bit or a 7mm allen wrench. Touch it to the grid and put it against the bottom of the probe. (so between grid and probe.) Do not put the bit against microphone nipple just the bottom flat part of the probe. Adjust to size turn clockwise to further out the probe until it is the size of the bit youre using. The probe should never be touching the grid.

I bought a brand new Manitowoc IYT0450A Ice Cube Machine in June, and I just noticed today that the fan turns on and off about every 10 seconds. We only scoop ice on the weekends, so it doesn't run much during the week. Before I call for a warranty work, should I try to restart it?
@IceMachine411Ай бұрын
Restarting it probably won’t fix anything. Be aware that some companies are NOT authorized to do warranty repairs on Manitowoc ice machines. Better to call Manitowoc tech support and get authorization from them to have a repair company come out to repair your machine. This will also help eliminate the possibility that you end up getting a repair bill.

When ur checking the hertz on the probe is 100 hz supposed to be higher or lower than 120hz or does it not matter

I don’t think it matters. The manual doesn’t say anything about that. Just that it rises by 3000 from its base line.

What is the symptoms of faulty ice sensor probe?
