This is a video clip from season 2 of Mannix. He is driving his Dart through the canyon road after the bad guy tampered with the car. This is a good scene of his car featured in 1968. I really like this model.

Hardly, though the 340 engine itself was a serious over-achiever back in the day. Actual "as installed" (SAE Net output) was 257 HP, which was just 18 shy of its advertised "gross" rating. The large majority of 396 CID and larger engines couldn't match that figure, despite their hugely inflated advertised ratings.

I like the wheels. I remember reading there was a ton of lead in that bodywork. I think his first car in the first season was an Olds Toro. This is a weird scene. He doesn't depress the button on the shifter knob to move the shifter to downshift and is pulling the parking brake release instead of stepping on the parking brake pedal.

Mannix was a badass & Connors was a true gentleman. Thanks for reminding us of one of TVs most iconic private detectives & his associated muscle car. A format many future TV shows started to use thereafter.

Slid, to a stop Then it roll backwards,,, Then put,it in park,,, Is funny how everything started working, After he stopped, He would have jumped out of the car, Immediately ,when the car stopped, Before it had a chance to go backwards down the mountain,, Just saying,,, Love the show, That's just Hollywood, I Guess,, And when you come to a complete stop, Would have cut the wheel sharp to the left, So when it rolled back it would hit the bank,,, Just thinking out loud,

Attempting to shift into Park can have it's limitations. Was driving my own Sixties vintage automobile recently going down one of those super steep hill in San Francisco. While shifting to Neutral I accidentally hit either Reverse or Park. A mistake I'll never make again. I could a sworn however that it did begin to stop the vehicle. Although was making a nasty crunch. They just don't.make 'em like they used to! Especially that C-4 tranny they once put into ten million Fords.
