Ill never forget watching the Indians of the mid 90's as a kid. Such great memories. Manny and Albert Belle made me really love the game of baseball. Congratulations to a legend!

I'm another one of those kids. The electricity those guys like Manny gave the city was palpable. They're the reason baseball became my life.

Aaaaaaand stiiiiiiiiiill Noooooooo WS title. Almost an entire century of futility. Making matters worst ALL other Cleveland pro teams are synonymous with losing. Fortunately spared additional losing, humiliation with NO NHL franchise. See where, how such delapitated, deteriorating, depressing, dull town, sm. city.

@@jasonhaditsch6298 As a white Sox fan I approve of your message. I’m baffled that Cleveland didn’t win a series with these guys, but I’ll say they’ve been the most consistently competitive team in the AL central during my lifetime.

My all time favorite hitter. Manny was money. Had swag without being a poser, it was genuine confidence at the plate, never forced pimping like you see too much of today. As a Dodgers fan in LA I never cared much for other team’s players. But the mid 90s Indians were the exception. Man did I love watching them play. In my heart those guys won a World Series. Baseball is too random. Those guys are champs, I don’t care what anyone says. When Manny came to LA it was literally a dream come true. But Manny in an Indians uniform will always be THE ultimate hitter on my Mount Rushmore of baseball.

I appreciate that man. Rare for other fans to actually appreciate our 90s teams, because they never won a title. And it seems casual fans don't remember how great they really were. I fell in love with baseball because of those teams. This was when we had football. Baseball became the Beatles of Northeast Ohio. And these guys were rock stars to us. I was kid, at the Jake, watching Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, and Albert Freakin' Belle in the same lineup. These guys were monsters. Kenny Lofton was probably my favorite though. I almost got his autograph, he'd sign them constantly, but the national anthem was starting and had to go.. Just the fact I was within inches of Kenny Lofton as a kid, was pretty exciting to me. How Kenny, Manny, and Belle aren't in the HOF. Is disgraceful. Kenny Lofton was a great player. That 1995 team has to be one of the greatest teams to never win a World Series. We just happen to only go against maybe the greatest starting pitching staff that year. When people say 'but they didn't win', I say look who they went against that year.

Manny had the most pure beautiful swing from the right side of the box. If he was focused, he may have been one of the hardest outs. Boy could he do damage! I had the pleasure of watching him and Ortiz for many years. That must have been a nightmare for the opposing teams.

@@TheGeorgelobo Not sure what you mean? He played 8 years here, and actually had his best years statistically in Cleveland. Went to two World Series here, I know he didn't win like in Boston. I think his accomplishments are about equal in Cleveland and Boston. And he pretty much views himself as both. Very poor? It was sold out for him. He had a standing ovation. Manny himself thanked the crowd. Why does Boston fans always feel players only belong to them? A big part of his career happen in Cleveland. And Manny knows and appreciates it.

@sipesthebest128 I am, Half Cheyenne thank you very much. As an Indian growing up on a reservation we cheered for teams like the Indians, Blackhawks, the Fighting Sioux, we took pride in teams named after us. My mother who was full blooded Cheyenne told me it was an honor to be called an Indian, not be ashamed, so there are still Indians whether people like it or not. The problems on the reservations still exist even after all the name changes, yet no one cares or talks about it. At least when teams were named for my people others thought about us, now no one does.
