it's not one guy, I wouldn't even call it an indie project. Even before launch he had backing from one of the biggest strategy games publishers, huge funding and dozens if not hundreds of people working for him as freelancers. He just has a giant ego and calls it a solo project because he didn't hire the people working for his game. Great game nevertheless, but not solo, not even indie.

This is not a game, this is a hobby project of one person which he has been working on for seven years and will continue to work on for another ten years since he did not invest the money received from early access in hiring a team. Almost nothing in this "game" works properly and will not work.

Its just Oscar though he has a support system with Hooded Horse which is his publisher, they were probably the ones that did this video in fact. And the music was composed by someone else. I am sure he has access to Hooded Horse's wide array of indie developers and freelancers for help here and there.

Great Game and Great Developers, you can see their passion in what they do. I hope that the game will feature big maps, castles, "sieges" somehow, stuff like that, to make it more complete. It will be a long journey and will be fun to hop on the game every now and then to explore the updates.

Been playing it just the last couple of days. I'm 44 now, never thought I would get so hooked again to a game but it did happen. Great game, even though it's early access. Greater potential even. The modding community will go ham on this one too. And to think it's mainly one guy developing this. He should give himself a raise lol.

Led by ONE developer, Greg, this game has SO much more to offer than other big titles in terms of graphics, soundtrack, just absolutely beautiful art. Compared to some BS games big developers release nowaways, a game like this puts their incomplete, buggy and with no real substance games to shame. For example Ubisoft or the developers of KSP 2

I have literally hundreds of hours in this game. The fact that one guy made it over the course of 7 years is mind blowing. Addictive every play through i try to see how early I can get new pop in my first settlement. June is the earliest I have been able to in the new beta

When you set your own goals, it is always more fun. But that goal can be set in any game, even the most broken one. 😂 The game itself however is broken and I don't find it fun playing a broken game. Farthest Frontier game is more stable and more fun. 🎉

@VadimCool I play Farthest Frontier as well and have a few hundred hours in that too. I am sick of grid based building games tbh. If they took the same mechanics there but let you build buildings and roads at any angle you wanted it would feel much more natural. I think Manor Lords has a ton of potential once it has the same amount of time in early access as FF. All games are "broken" if you try to break them.

To anyone stuck on the fence on whether they want to play this game or not. My girlfriend and i were constantly arguing about the other playing for too long and we were basically taking alternating shifts to play it. I also dont play games like this and dont really enjoy them most of the time... that is not the case here and to think that its even better now...

I ruined the game for myself a bit because I felt pressured to optimize a bit too much to make the basic economy work, so that I lost contact with what I actually loved about the game: just building nice villages that look immersive and just work. The moment I started optimizing everything, I noticed some bugs and problems which are to be expected in an early access game, but some of those bugs made it hard to play the game casually. I hope the game has those casual vibes again, when it finally releases in its final form.
