To be honest - I still don't quite understand whether I am trading with my regions - spending money internally only - or with foreign traders that take my money away. If you got any thoughts, let me know!
@catplane25219 ай бұрын
I think the Packing Station is for internal trading.
@berndepauw49329 ай бұрын
I think they payed internally, as gretchelein took the sheep your region wealth went down by 20, not sure, could have been another purchase. Also I think you will be able to upgrade the tavern after an update as you have apples for cider and honey for mede, probably there isn’t a model for it yet, we will have to see later I guess 😅

i do think buying sheep from outside your own region would make sense for biodiversity and preventing inc*st sheep.

I don't understand. Is interregion trading exclusive to livestock? Exclusive to unpurchased trade routes? Edit NVM! Your hesitation when buying roof tiles answered my question!

For internal trade you want the Pack Station. No coinage but it it moves goods around between settlements.

From what I've read, Charcoal Burners weren't close to rivers only for fire safety. They were close to rivers because charcoal becomes basically unusable VERY quickly when transported over ground. It's extremely brittle, a small jostle in the wagon will turn it to dust. Much better to transport it by water.
@melissaharris33899 ай бұрын
It's not _that_ brittle. It, like other brakeable goods, would be packed in straw; and you can still sell broken charcoal. Clay tiles can't be used if broken (they can be ground into grog for pottery) but were still transported overland if required. You put any industry near water transport if able as it's faster, cheaper, and can carry larger loads than overland. We still do that today.
@asamonson45849 ай бұрын
Use a development point on trade. One of the options makes opening a new trade route only 25 silver. Instead of the 600+ it currently cost you for tiles.
@Seppi13109 ай бұрын
I am really impressed by this playthrough, it finalized my decision to buy this game because you showed that a historically accurate approach really works out and besides from the castle/wall planning you really don't have to cheese your way through abusing the mechanics. At 10:00 I have to say though that I think historically speaking you wanted to remove all trees surrounding your castle by a very very large radius to deny approaching enemies any possible cover or hiding spots
@jacobl16579 ай бұрын
One note for your walled city. In order to maximize space within the walls, one can run a road around where the walls will go. Then when planning the wall, you can use the road as a marker on placement. Either keep the road or delete to fill in with buildings before the wall is built
@spamfilter329 ай бұрын
Fantastic build. Hopefully the trade system gets some love after launch. Also hope the wall builder gets some attention. I hope the castle builder gets a chapel building included as they were common inside castles. I also hope the walls become palisades rather than stay as fences.

I've been looking for ideas for creating historically reliable villages for a week but all I managed to find were vintage versions of modern cities: straight streets regardless of the landscape, functional but unrealistic positioning of buildings, etc. Then, yesterday, I stumbled upon your channel and, in one go, I watched this series. Spectacular! Compliments! You enhance entertainment with teaching! I hope you will make new ones.
