I'm not sure how long that coil cable is going to last on that Manticore . Great video as usual Carter. We're lucky to have you. Just can't unsee that cable now lol.
@pigeonbloodruby5330 Жыл бұрын
What?
@itselectric3906 Жыл бұрын
@@pigeonbloodruby5330 The coil cable is wrapped in reverse of proper installation. If you look, you can see the cable is wrapped tightly around the coil bolt and then passes under the shaft to enter the strain relief creating terrible pressure on the cable. The cable sho I ld be wrapped the other direction on the shaft so it comes off the top of the shaft into the strain relief and allowing the shaft to fold all the way down on the coil without pinching the cable while transporting.
@steveallen984 Жыл бұрын
So you're referring to a set up error by the user. After a lot of start up issues right off the bat with this Manticore I think you just gave those Manticore owners/users a brief coronary lol I had to go back and look at it being I didn't catch it when I first watched the video. It sure doesn't look like what we traditionally see that's for sure. But after thinking about the coil from moving all the way in up to under the shaft to all the way out over the top of the shaft it doesn't look like it will move much but I can see where it moves near the connection might be concerning. The only reason I can think of him wrapping it like that is possibly from being concerned about him getting it snagged scrubbing underbrush? That's the only thing I could guess why he wrapped it like this. Is does sit flat out of the way but it sure looks like if he flipped the coil all the way up it's gonna tug at that connection which probably shouldn't be bent like that. I guarantee if he does kills it Minelab will void the warranty if they find out it's wrapped this way. IDK I don't think I would personally risk wrapping it like that because if something falls on it during transport it could really stress it bad over the coil. Good eye catching that though
@pigeonbloodruby5330 Жыл бұрын
@@itselectric3906 Thanks for the clarification. Yeah I'm super careful not to put a side load force on the strain relief. Even when I flip the coil over during testing, I make sure that the coil strain relief is not touching anything. I would like to orientate the coil cable perpendicular to the coil. I hope to reduce the coil from picking up interference from the cable. Not sure if that's an issue. Ferrite chokes aren't needed on modern detectors, am I being pedantic? Not sure how to do it without a 3D printed clip? I'm with you, I can't unsee it now. It's going to be ripped out at some point in the future or slowly degrade performance on it's way failure. 🤓

The owner of the company suggest using the detector in mixed mode in that red dirt. While you may lose the discriminate tone around seven or eight inches, the all metal tone will punch down extremely deep.

I have done the same test with my D1 and D2 with small silver coins in iron infested soil in England and I struggle to get a signal at depth below 4 inches.

@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
We were using the nox 800, not the 900. Iron bias at 6 it was hard to hear anything so we had to keep it at 4. Regarding the Manticore, I'll contact Jimmy and ask him to comment here

@@jimzilladetecting It would be interesting to see a test with the manticore and 900 if you have one. With the Manticore recovery set at 2 and the Upper limits set to 4 or 5 and the lower limits set to 4 which really helps in the unmasking of targets in iron and the 900 with its FE set to 0.

@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
You are talking apples and oranges. The TDI-Pro is a pulse machine. The whole purpose of this test to see if a discriminating VLF metal detector can discriminate in heavy mineralized conditions. I use a TDI Pro and it's an excellent machine but cannot discriminate

@@DetectorComparisons The Tarsacci MDT 8000 uses a Hybrid Circuit with a Patented Adjustable Salinity Balance, separate of the Ground Balance. By Hybrid; a combination of BOTH Pulse Domain and Frequency Domain. It is a bit more complicated than that which Dimitar will NOT go into. TDI Pulse Scan does not have a conventional VLF Discriminator but what it does have is an adjustable Pulse Timing Rate where you can identify most Ferrous (Iron) Signals from their Non-Ferrous more desirable targets. Tarsacci does have a couple of major advantages as like a PI, the Ground Strength Mineralization from Low to Extreme will not diminish the Target like todays XPs, Minelab and Nokta Models are more vulnerable. Yes, any pulse machine will see the bullet under the rock easily. As a matter of fact any vlf machine will be able to see the bullet underneath the Rock in all metal.
