"Fresh is the Word" is one of the songs that made me fall in love with Hip-Hop. The song is pure and raw and I just want to thank Mantronix for changing my life. Hip-Hop is my first love and will always be!

MANTRONIX!!!!!! The King of the beats! I used to play your tapes so much when I was young. My friends would say "Man, can we please listen to something else". I would say "Well, I can drop you off at home and you can listen to what ever you want!" LOLOL!!! You were the soundtrack of my Junior High and High School Years. I'm so happy seeing that you are alive and well. Peace!

All my homies love MANTRONIX cos they had a futuristic style with Synth Basses, Wild Scratching & Electronic FX that made them the OG's & Famous for there New wave of Hip Hop! Today MANTRONIX:: Is in my soul for Hip Hop. They are True Legends::

I wish I could meet him and express how much of an epiphany his music was for me and how much his musical expression changed me back in the day. They say you should never meet your hero's but for me, mantronik and krs1 are the exceptions to that rule.

Kurtis should have never signed with Capitol Records should have stuck with Sleeping Bag Records because it was all down hill when he went pop and couldnt live up to the demand to produce hits for Capitol and they sued him but he was the man back in the day
@mecdj3 жыл бұрын
Well Sleeping Bag never paid him and Got to have your love and king of the beats were on Capital both big earners for , I guess street cred don’t pay the bills !
@glorygiftsglory27713 жыл бұрын
@@mecdj True , The contract he got was a lot of money back in the day and most artist wouldnt have turned it down but at least he was getting a lot of air play and was making a name for himself as a top producer in hip hop and R&B while on Sleeping Bag. I knew a guy that worked at Sleeping Bag Records at the time Kurtis was there and he kept me informed with the whole Mantronix situation and i believe there was other labels interested in kurtis as well.Just think if he would have started his own indie label back then.Also i got a chance to meet and talked to Kurtis and Mc Tee around that time and Kurtis was a quiet guy but very cool
