Manual Exercise 1764 - Fire & Load

Do you enjoy military tactics? Are you a living historian? Want to know more about how soldiers learned their craft in the Revolutionary War era? If you answered yes to any of these - join us! The Manual Exercise 1764 is a primary work of military drill for English speaking participants in the American Revolution. We are joined by two members of the 17th Regiment of Infantry (recreated) to help us learn how to first fire and then load the musket.
If you are new here, we also suggest watching our earlier work on the nomenclature of the musket as it will help to know the parts of the weapon when we refer to them. Plus, you can view some excellent original pieces there.

Thank you for pointing out that the militia drilled and knew how to drill prior to the childish story about von Steuben at Valley Forge that is beaten to death. I know this video shows British regulars performing the drill - but could your militia group show Timothy Pickering's drill as well.
