Awesome idea. I think I am going to do something similar except I am going to use one of those flag pole holders that rotates so I can collapse the pole so its parallel with my kayak and stow so I can pass under low bridges and such.
@patrickgosier29085 жыл бұрын
Fish Junkie I’ve been looking into ways to have a rotating one to run parallel. Have you completed yours yet?

So no problem with the 1/2 inch? I was looking at that and the 3/4 but it's twice the price! Hard to find these things
@rj_babydoc25345 жыл бұрын
Tucker M go ahead and get the 3/4”. I didn’t have many problems but once I got a 3/4” it was even better
@BruthaTuck5 жыл бұрын
@@rj_babydoc2534 thanks for the quick response however I got trigger happy and already ordered the 1/2 inch. It was like half the price on Grainger. Its tough to find reasonable pricing for those things.
@rj_babydoc25345 жыл бұрын
@@BruthaTuck It'll treat you fine I bet. The 3/4" is just "better" than the 1/2" which works just fine. Purely personal preference.

My concern is removing pole if needed for clearences under bridges of culverts.
@rj_babydoc25344 жыл бұрын
That’s certainly a valid concern. When I need to I paddle to shore and undo it. Then go to a bank on the other side of whatever obstacle. I do the same now with my actual micro power pole.

Does the mount just attach with self tapping screws or what?

Is there someway you could give us the dimensions to the aluminum piece?
@braveswin16 жыл бұрын
Does the pole go in with enough force to allow you to stand in your kayak. Does it make your yak more stable in that regard? I have a T120 and I want to stand, but I can't do it without some added stability.
@rj_babydoc25346 жыл бұрын
braveswin1 this won't help at all in that department. It's just gravity keeping it down.

just curious, what is the LxWxH of the aluminum? wondering if this could work on my feelfree moken 13 yak? pretty sweet..

Kevin Dismuke is a great guy to work with and he was able to provide a custom solution for my NuCanoe F12. Here's a link to a related post in the NuCanoe Forum that will give you some of the details you're looking for. www.nucanoe.com/forum/outfitting/poor-mans-river-stick/ The business end of the mount is 3" wide x 3" high. The base length will be based on your yak's profile and mount location. Reach out to Kevin on Facebook and I'm sure he'll be able to take care of you!!!

Did you bolt it in or use screws on the mount to secure it to the kayak
@rj_babydoc25347 жыл бұрын
I drilled holes and used large washers and bolts to secure it. Considering the torque It would experience I wanted to spread out the weight of the twisting
