These videos give me hope that car culture is not completely dead. People commenting with solid information and advice, and it being useful to push the project ahead while we all watch and root for this to be a great build is about as wholesome as it gets.

Haha @9:30 is too relatable. That's how it always goes. The bolts start out nice and organized then all of a sudden it's mayhem. Lol. As long as you don't have too many leftover at the end. I'm really enjoying this series man, thanks for all the entertainment.

The airbag sensor in the center console is actually the ECU for the SRS system, all the decisions related to airbag deployment and belt tensioning are handled by that module. It says don’t tilt it because if you have the car on and tilt it, it assumes the car is rolling over. The general manager at my last job got concussed by the curtain airbag when he was leaning into a car window while a tech was doing diag with a new SRS module hooked up but unbolted. The module got knocked on its side, and the car thought it rolled over so it deployed the curtain airbags.

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a soft mallet or three of different sizes for hitting seals. If you dont have a nicer flat something or another (the back of a big socket for instance) to put up against a seal to move it in all at the same time use the outer side of the old seal up against the outer of the new seal to protect it when you hit it. Ive had to redo do seals a couple three times when I used your hammer technique when I was at this stage of learning gearhead stuff. Great project!!

I'm about 1 minute and 58 seconds into the video and I thought that it would have been more suitable for the no oil tape, to be accompanied by a "NO ENGINE" tape, while the engine was taken off. Good work, great vid, keep it up!

Have a base 2003 v70 manual, still shiftin' after 21 years of continuous use. These Volvos literally can run for years if you take care of them. l drive conservatively, never strain the engine, no burn-outs, no quick lane changes on the highway, only steady driving for what the car was designed for. The work you did is beyond my capacity, but l truly appreciate the methodical manner of work done.

Yes, manual transmissions are hard to find, but l live in Canada and there were more manuals sold here than in the USA. So they are rare, but not ultra-rare. More the case that the cars of 20 years vintage are gonzo.

Just wanna say I really like your channel. It's just honest classic KZbin but really well put together. Also, you show your mistakes which can really happen to anybody and it's inspiring to anyone wanting to start working on cars. I actually had a throttle body with the same connector as the original one but the pinout was different... That took a bit longer to figure out than a forgotten connector. Greetz from a Volvo fan from Belgium! (Actual comment on the video on the Pcv fix and injector replacement but Autoplay skipped to this...)

Upgrade the oil cooler from the plastic one to the aluminum 65 mm from the MKII Focus RS for performance, its a simple upgrade but it will make sure that ur oil temps don't spike under load. You would need to drain the oil and the coolant though so whenever that is being done don't forget to upgrade.
