Haha I’ve been warned about some of these parts, I think the next time I open it up I’ll probably be investing in a short shifter and solid mount.

@@noboltsleftbehind Yeah, that rubber bushing in the bracket holding the shifter is right up there with the coolant lines under the plenum. All I envision is Nissan engineers laughing as they draw the designs up…but I don’t have room to speak, I’m installing R35 coils and dual 485s in my Z right now so I’ve opened my own can of worms

@@Defiant155 ah yes I’ve read about the intake coolant lines, I think I’m gonna tackle that one in the next episode or two. Just pulling off the intake manifold seems like such a daunting task. On the bright side, it makes me appreciate working on my other cars that much more!

@@noboltsleftbehind Yeah you’re going to have fun there. With the EGR system and coolant lines in place, I think it used to take about an hour to get the manifold off. Now with the R35s and top feed injectors with the wiring tucked under the plenum, it takes about 10 minutes to take the plenum off now if that. I don’t even have to remove the balance tube anymore 😂

Hey great work brother! I just did this exact job on my '95. I pulled the motor to do other maintenance which made things a ltitle easier but man I also had a lot of trouble getting the tranmission to stab into the engine! Keep up the videos man I really enjoy following your progress! Wish I had the drive to make videos like yours and document my own work but it's just too much lol

You will probably hit your hands on the dash in 1,and 3rd. The shifter is in backwards I think, needs to rotated 180 deg at the linkage. (where the brass bushings are) Great job so far!!!

I think I'll probably do some engine tune-up stuff, pull the intake manifold off and see if I can fix those oil leaks. Soon after that, hopefully paint and rust repair.

Yes, from what I remember its on one of the top transmission bolts, I think passenger side.

On other Z32 swap videos, I noticed they had difficulty with a top bolt, requiring a super long makeshift socket extension. Did you have that problem too?

Haha I definitely had to make the mega-extension, but it wasn’t hard if you have enough of them. About three feet worth and a wobble extension or two helps. You can see it when I was pulling the auto transmission: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5_ImpiCbJqad6M
